Peace at that won’t last

Obviously, nobody in the media reads or believes the Bible anymore. It's absolutely clear that no lasting peace will exist until Christ comes back to administer justice in the Middle East and everywhere else.

From where I sit, this world looks a lot like the Sodom and Gomorrah God destroyed in a firestorm before. Is it too soon for God to do it again?

I don't hear the following verse much in today's churches. Warnings are no longer being sent out by today's Laodicean church.

7 And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
2 Peter 3:7

be sure to read the link to the pakistan paper. here's the money quote:

Fear of nuclear Iran: Israeli military leaders claim that Tehran could curtail every Israeli military campaign with only the threat of a nuclear strike. With all its military strength, they say, the country would be practically defenceless. And Israel’s woes don’t end here. The mere existence of an Iranian nuclear bomb could trigger an exodus of the educated elite which could spell disaster for the country, both economically and culturally.

“Iran would be in a position to destroy the Zionist dream without even pressing a button,”

SOMETHING is going to happen this fall, if not sooner.

I think you're right; something may very well happen in the waning months of Bush's presidency. It'll likely be Israel acting alone, but that fact never hurt them in the War of Independence (1948), Six Day War (1967), or in Yom Kippur (1973). These past battles are absolutely proof positive that God is once again watching over Israel. They will never again be uprooted from their land as that one story seems to suggest is possible - that 'ain't' going to happen!

Amos 9:14 I will bring my exiled people of Israel back from distant lands, and they will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again. They will plant vineyards and gardens; they will eat their crops and drink their wine.
Amos 9:15 I will firmly plant them there in the land I have given them," says the Lord your God. "Then they will never be uprooted again."
