I'm not Jewish, but I can't wait until the Jews receive the respect they deserve. What's with the Israeli foreign minister, Tzipi Livni, having to enter the Annapolis conference via the service entrance because the arrogant Arabs refused to enter the conference through the same door as Israel. Ignorant fools! Their next breath is only possible because of God's mercy: He is the only God - the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob, later re-named 'Israel' by God Himself! (Genesis 35:10)

Column One: Apartheid, not peace
It is true that Israel has security concerns, but as far as Rice is concerned, the Palestinians are the innocent victims. They are the ones who are discriminated against and humiliated, not Livni, who was forced - by Rice - to enter the conference through the service entrance. At the meeting of foreign ministers on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni called her Arab counterparts to task for their discriminatory treatment. "Why doesn't anyone want to shake my hand? Why doesn't anyone want to be seen speaking to me?" she asked pointedly.

Oh, how things will change:

20 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: People from nations and cities around the world will travel to Jerusalem. 21 The people of one city will say to the people of another, ‘Come with us to Jerusalem to ask the Lord to bless us. Let’s worship the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. I’m determined to go.’ 22 Many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord of Heaven’s Armies and to ask for his blessing.

23 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: In those days ten men from different nations and languages of the world will clutch at the sleeve of one Jew. And they will say, ‘Please let us walk with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

Zechariah 8:20-23 [emphasis mine]

I love today's "Verse of the Day":

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives. [2 Peter 3:10-11]

As I always say: that is the Global Warming event we all need to be concerned about. Rest assured: the earth will last long enough for God to destroy it by fire. It's great to take measures to try and care for God's creation, if it was recognized as such, but the vast majority of people are completely unprepared for the actual 'global warming' that is coming - and that will be an eternal, tragic mistake (and that's an understatement). Extremely, extremely sad.

Solar panels aren't going to shield any of us from the coming wrath of God. Trusting in Christ for our salvation and "living holy and godly lives" are the only preparations that will work.

I gotta think: with all that is happening around Israel today: How far are we from that day?

PM, Bush hold private meeting on Iran

...Plainly, though, time is limited, as Iran maintains its nuclear program in defiance of international pressure, and as the Bush administration heads into its final year. After Wednesday, Bush and Olmert may not have too many more opportunities to forge a definite position on thwarting Iran one way or another.

Hamas warns of violence after Annapolis talks
Yossi Alpher, an Israeli strategic analyst and former adviser to Ehud Barak, the Defence Minister, when he was Prime Minister, said he had no expectation of anything of importance happening in the US. 'There will be the ritual speeches and a celebration of the fact that they are both going back to phase one of the road map. Everything has been rigged to call it a success, but the problems start the day after the conference,' he said. 'Olmert cannot reopen the PLO office in Jerusalem or remove the illegal outposts. Middle East Peace Conference Convenes Next Week

David Makovsky of The Washington Institute says Arab countries attending the Annapolis meeting should be asked to pledge significant funds for the Palestinians.

"I think it is obscene that the Arab states have had tripling of oil revenues since 2002," he said. "I think the number you usually hear is $700 billion of profit and yet they have done nothing for the Palestinians. At a time when you want to think that the moderates can deliver, I think you are in a very good position to insist that the Gulf States, not just the Saudis, do more."

$700 BILLION in estimated oil profits and the fat sheiks cry about the inhuman Israeli treatment of the poor Palestinians. The Arabs keep the Palestinians in desperate circumstances so that they can complain about how the "Jewish dogs and monkeys" are mistreating them. Palestinians are mere bargaining chips for the Arabs to use to manipulate Israel.

Good luck with Annapolis next week (?!) What a joke.

Will '1967 + 40 years' be significant?

I have no idea. But I find it interesting that there's a hastily organized Mid-east (aka Israel and her surrounding enemies) peace conference with 50 worldwide invitees next week; Iran is continuing to ignore the West over nuclear enrichment; Lebanon is about to explode into (another) civil war; nuclear Pakistan is in political chaos; Turkey still has tens of thousands of troops poised on the northern border with Iraq; Chinese and Russian relations with the West are worsening; the Western economies are threatened by a major recession due to the sub-prime mortgage fiasco and a barrel of oil approaching+$100/bbl; and Israel, or PM Olmert at least, is contemplating making major land-for-peace concessions that may even re-divide Jerusalem.

I get the gut feeling we're living in (what will be regarded in retrospect) as one of the most important generations in all human history. There's so much going on around the Holy Land today, plus we're living in the period of post-May 14, 1948 (The re-establishment of Israel) - it feels like a trap is about to spring shut.

Luke 17:
26
"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

28"It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

30"It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

Luke 21:
34"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.

US seeks Mideast deal next year
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Wednesday the United States will try to close a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians before President Bush's term expires, but she cautioned that there is no guarantee of success.

"no guarantee of success"? That's laughable. Actually I can unconditionally guarantee FAILURE of any peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians. Our leaders are so blind. Sad really.

Micah 4:6-10
6 “In that coming day,” says the Lord, “I will gather together those who are lame, those who have been exiles, and those whom I have filled with grief. 7 Those who are weak will survive as a remnant; those who were exiles will become a strong nation. Then I, the Lord, will rule from Jerusalem[a] as their king forever.” 8 As for you, Jerusalem, the citadel of God’s people,[b] your royal might and power will come back to you again. The kingship will be restored to my precious Jerusalem.

9 But why are you now screaming in terror?
Have you no king to lead you?
Have your wise people all died?
Pain has gripped you like a woman in childbirth.

10 Writhe and groan like a woman in labor,
you people of Jerusalem,[c]
for now you must leave this city
to live in the open country.
You will soon be sent in exile
to distant Babylon.
But the Lord will rescue you there;
he will redeem you from the grip of your enemies.

[Isaiah 66:7-9; emphasis mine]

7 “Before the birth pains even begin, Jerusalem gives birth to a son. 8 Who has ever seen anything as strange as this? Who ever heard of such a thing? Has a nation ever been born in a single day? Has a country ever come forth in a mere moment? But by the time Jerusalem’s[b] birth pains begin, her children will be born. 9 Would I ever bring this nation to the point of birth and then not deliver it?” asks the Lord. “No! I would never keep this nation from being born,” says your God.]

Micah 4:11-5:1

11 Now many nations have gathered against you.
“Let her be desecrated,” they say.
“Let us see the destruction of Jerusalem.[d]
12 But they do not know the Lord’s thoughts
or understand his plan.
These nations don’t know
that he is gathering them together
to be beaten and trampled
like sheaves of grain on a threshing floor.
13 “Rise up and crush the nations, O Jerusalem!”[e]
says the Lord.
“For I will give you iron horns and bronze hooves,
so you can trample many nations to pieces.
You will present their stolen riches to the Lord,
their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.”

5:1 Mobilize! Marshal your troops!
The enemy is laying siege to Jerusalem.
They will strike Israel’s leader
in the face with a rod.

Israel has writhed through birth pangs of exile and the Holocaust, but has now been regathered and declared a "nation in a day" (Isaiah 66:8 = May 14, 1948, Israel Independence Day). We're in the time period of Micah 4:11-5:1. Praise the Lord that he has made this know to us! Isn't it obvious what the Lord has recently accomplished with Israel, and more importantly, what He is about to accomplish?! The Lord is gathering the surrounding Muslim nations, who HATE Israel, for a final war. Pray that more eyes would see before it is too late.

Soon it will be too late.

Mathew 24 [emphasis mine]:

30 And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven. 32 “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree [that is: Israel]. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. 33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door. 34 I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things take place.

Anyone who thinks a lasting peace will begin at Annapolis, Maryland next week is delusional:

Abbas' Fatah and Hamas continue to threaten Israel

Ido Zoldan, 29, of Shavei Shomron, was killed at the wheel of his car in a drive-by shooting in N. West Bank Monday night, Nov. 19, claimed by Fatah-Al Aqsa Brigades. At his briefing Tuesday to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, Lt. Gen. Gaby Ashkenazi confirmed Fatah were the perpetrators. The attack took place hours after Abbas met with Israeli PM Ehud Olmert and assured him his organization could and would combat Palestinian terror.

Olmert hopes for a peace deal in 2008
Olmert in the past has said that he hoped to make serious strides toward such a deal before US President George W. Bush leaves office in January 2009.

"A week before the conference, both sides need to work to make it a success. I want to see serious negotiations begin there on all issues of a final settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, according to a set timeline. I am looking forward to constructive positions from Prime Minister Olmert to establish the foundations (of peace) and ensure the success of the conference," [Egyptian President] Mubarak said.

Dr. Condoleezza Rice and President Bush are just fooling themselves into thinking they can leave a legacy of peace in the Middle East starting with next week's Annapolis conference. They have high hopes, but as professing Christians, they should know better. But that's a sign of the current day - the apostate Laodicean church dominates the earth today just as predicted in Revelation 3. Today most churches water down the Gospel, and ignore the Old Testament so that conviction of sin is rare, and Israel's obvious destiny is ignored. It's all about fitting into the world and not "creating too many waves".

If you're in an odd church that still preaches the unadulterated Gospel-praise the Lord! But pray for our kids because churches will generally only become more corrupted by the world, until Christ comes back to straighten it all out.

I love Isaiah 60:
Future Glory for Jerusalem
1 “Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you. 2 Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the Lord rises and appears over you. 3 All nations will come to your light; mighty kings will come to see your radiance.

4 “Look and see, for everyone is coming home! Your sons are coming from distant lands; your little daughters will be carried home.
5 Your eyes will shine,
and your heart will thrill with joy,
for merchants from around the world will come to you.
They will bring you the wealth of many lands.
6 Vast caravans of camels will converge on you,
the camels of Midian and Ephah.
The people of Sheba will bring gold and frankincense
and will come worshiping the Lord.
7 The flocks of Kedar will be given to you,
and the rams of Nebaioth will be brought for my altars.
I will accept their offerings,
and I will make my Temple glorious.

8 “And what do I see flying like clouds to Israel, like doves to their nests? 9 They are ships from the ends of the earth, from lands that trust in me, led by the great ships of Tarshish. They are bringing the people of Israel home from far away, carrying their silver and gold. They will honor the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has filled you with splendor.

10 “Foreigners will come to rebuild your towns,
and their kings will serve you.
For though I have destroyed you in my anger,
I will now have mercy on you through my grace.
11 Your gates will stay open around the clock
to receive the wealth of many lands.
The kings of the world will be led as captives
in a victory procession.
12 For the nations that refuse to serve you will be destroyed.

13 “The glory of Lebanon will be yours—
the forests of cypress, fir, and pine—
to beautify my sanctuary.
My Temple will be glorious!
14 The descendants of your tormentors
will come and bow before you.
Those who despised you
will kiss your feet.
They will call you the City of the Lord,
and Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 “Though you were once despised and hated,
with no one traveling through you,
I will make you beautiful forever, a joy to all generations.
16 Powerful kings and mighty nations
will satisfy your every need,
as though you were a child
nursing at the breast of a queen.
You will know at last that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel.[a]
17 I will exchange your bronze for gold,
your iron for silver,
your wood for bronze,
and your stones for iron.
I will make peace your leader
and righteousness your ruler.
18 Violence will disappear from your land;
the desolation and destruction of war will end.
Salvation will surround you like city walls,
and praise will be on the lips of all who enter there.

19 “No longer will you need the sun to shine by day,
nor the moon to give its light by night,
for the Lord your God will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
20 Your sun will never set;
your moon will not go down.
For the Lord will be your everlasting light. Your days of mourning will come to an end.
21 All your people will be righteous. They will possess their land forever,
for I will plant them there with my own hands
in order to bring myself glory.
22 The smallest family will become a thousand people,
and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation.
At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”

1 Thessalonians 5:

2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

Luke 21:

33Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

34"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. 35For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth.

Mark 13:

8 Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in many parts of the world, as well as famines. But this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.

Luke 21:

25"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

2 Peter 3:5-8

5But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

8But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

U.S. Secretly Aids Pakistan in Guarding Nuclear Arms

What could hasten the day of the Lord? Nuclear capable Islamic extremists could hasten the coming of Jesus Christ, quite a bit. There's a whole lot that the 'average Joe' like me, doesn't know about nuclear weapon security. But based on the little that I know, it sounds like it's only a matter of time before Islamists get "the bomb": either through the turmoil in Pakistan; through Ahmadinejad in Iran; or through the latest race for nuclear 'power' technology in the Middle East that Ahmadinejad has set off. Now oil-rich Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, suddenly want nuclear powered generators (read: nuclear warheads) to match Shiite Iran's clandestine program. It's only a matter of time before somebody hits the button, and Israel, the regathered apple of God's eye would make the ideal target. Get ready for an exciting conclusion.

PS: Even the UN ( who I think are generally misguided and nuts ) think this earth is almost irrevocably doomed. But their egos are still big enough to make them think that they can reverse the earth's doom. My advice to them: don't put your hope on revitalizing the earth - because it is going down. That fact should be rather obvious to even an atheist who is willing to take an honest look at the current state of affairs.

Zechariah 2:
3 Then the angel who was speaking to me left, and another angel came to meet him 4 and said to him: "Run, tell that young man, 'Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of men and livestock in it. 5 And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,' declares the LORD, 'and I will be its glory within.'

6 "Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north," declares the LORD, "for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven," declares the LORD.

7 "Come, O Zion! Escape, you who live in the Daughter of Babylon!" 8 For this is what the LORD Almighty says: "After he has honored me and has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye- 9 I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. [a] Then you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me.

10 "Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you," declares the LORD. 11 "Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you. 12 The LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem. 13 Be still before the LORD, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling."

"There are media people outside waiting to catch this point and they will add to it (exaggerate) and we may find that the dollar collapses," he said.

They pointed to other parts of the IAEA report showing Tehran had been cooperating with the agency's inspectors on other nuclear issues. Against the fraught backdrop, a meeting of senior officials from the UN security council's five permanent members and Germany to decide on sanctions, planned for Monday, was put off after the Chinese delegation said it could not attend.

Putin is ever the obstructionist, and apparently China has declared "national hair wash day" for next Monday and can't make the somewhat crucial security council meeting (??) This isn't looking good, folks. At least not for the humanist who wants to preserve "mother earth" forever.

I've been echoing Dr. Skolfield repeatedly on this site, that the LBL Beast of Islam in the Middle East is slowly, but surely drawing the world to a last war - also known as Armageddon. Yes, I know this doesn't fit well with today's 'Laodicean church eschatology', but you gotta remember, Christ doesn't say flattering things about the last church in Rev 3!

Revelation 16 [my comments; emphasis mine]:
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River [goes right through Iraq, Syria, and Turkey and that's no coincidence. ], and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies toward the west without hindrance. 13 And I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs leap from the mouths of the dragon [Satan], the [Rev 13:2 LBL] beast, and the false prophet [Mohammad. Who else has 1.3 billion people saying (screaming) that Jesus was just a human prophet of Allah? Who else has an abomination of desolation on Mount Moriah, the Temple Mount, saying Jesus is not the Son of God?]. 14 They are demonic spirits who work miracles and go out to all the rulers of the world to gather them for battle against the Lord on that great judgment day of God the Almighty.

15 “Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! [Christ comes back here and no sooner, and not for a 'third time'] Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.”

16 And the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon.

Titus 2:

11 For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, 13 while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. 14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

15 You must teach these things and encourage the believers to do them. You have the authority to correct them when necessary, so don’t let anyone disregard what you say.

Muslims flush Koranic toilet seats in Italy
Unfortunately the Italian authorities have "pulled the chain" on these seats under pressure from Muslim leaders and threats of an angry reaction. Likely the Italian Interior Minister wanted to avoid the worldwide Islamic hysteria and murders as "The Religion of Peace" demonstrated regarding the Danish cartoons incident.

Palestinians: Israel is not a Jewish State

Jewish state call alarms Mideast press

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's call for the Palestinians to recognize Israel as a Jewish state as a pre-condition for post-Annapolis peace talks is seen by some Israeli papers and a Jordanian commentator as reasonable and necessary.
But the demand horrifies the Palestinian daily al-Ayyam and other Arab papers who describe the concept as "racist" and a bar to the return of the Palestinian diaspora.

The "Palestinian diaspora"? Puleeez!

From Dave Hunt's Judgment Day
Within a week after the UN partitioned Palestine, Arab guerillas and
terrorists had killed more than one hundred Jews. John Bagot Glubb,
British commander of Transjordan’s Arab Legion, admitted: “Early in
January [1948], the first detachments of the Arab Liberation Army
began to infiltrate into Palestine from Syria. Some came through
Jordan and even through Amman…. They were in reality to strike
the first blow in the ruin of the Arabs of Palestine.
Unashamedly, the Arabs boasted to the entire world of their intentions.
Jamal Husseini, speaking for the Arab Higher Committee, had
told the Security Council on April 16, 1948: “The…Jewish Agency
[said] that the Arabs had begun the fighting. We did not deny this.
We told the whole world that we were going to fight.” This was a
month before Israel declared itself a nation. The vow to exterminate
Israel is a foundational doctrine of Islam. That fact obviously requires
unusual measures to ensure real peace in the Middle East—but political
correctness remains in denial of this awful truth.

Israel’s Proclamation of Independence stated: “We extend…to
all neighboring States…an offer of peace...and appeal to them to
establish bonds of cooperation and mutual help with the sovereign
Jewish people settled in its own land...placing our trust in the
Almighty....” That olive branch held out by Israel in good faith was
trampled by the regular armies of at least five Arab nations.
The next morning, the fledgling State of Israel found itself at war
in earnest, under heavy attack on several fronts. The Arab armies had
begun their coordinated invasion: the Lebanese from the north, the
Syrian armies down the Golan from the northeast, the Arab Legion
and the Iraqi forces attacking in the center, and the Egyptians from the
south assisted by bombers—in what they unashamedly announced to
the world would be a war of extermination.

Bashar Assad

Tehran secretly deploys air defense batteries around Damascus in wake of Israel’s Sept. 6 attack on Syrian nuclear reactor
Tehran is providing the Syrian capital with an air defense shield at a time when Washington is avidly bidding to win president Bashar Assad away from his alliance with Tehran. In return for sending a delegation to the international conference at Annapolis on Nov. 26, he is being offered an opening for talks with Israel toward recovering the Golan.

Isaiah 8:
20 Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark. 21 They will go from one place to another, weary and hungry. And because they are hungry, they will rage and curse their king and their God. They will look up to heaven 22 and down at the earth, but wherever they look, there will be trouble and anguish and dark despair. They will be thrown out into the darkness.

Former pilots and officials call for new U.S. UFO probe

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic U.S. presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich may have been ridiculed for saying he had seen a UFO, but for some former military pilots and other observers, unidentified flying objects are no laughing matter.

An international panel of two dozen former pilots and government officials called on the U.S. government on Monday to reopen its generation-old UFO investigation as a matter of safety and security given continuing reports about flying discs, glowing spheres and other strange sightings.

Rice: Israelis must be prepared for "difficult and painful sacrifices" now that they have a negotiating partner in President Abbas
Abbas can't even negotiate peace with Hamas, so what are the chances of peace between Palestinians and Israel? Zero...for now.

Iran gives UN warhead blueprints

Is World War III on Hold?
Is a Bush pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear enrichment plant at Natanz, or on the Al Quds force of the Revolutionary Guard, a more remote possibility today than it was several weeks ago?

So it would seem.

U.S. attack on Iran may "open Pandora's box"
Iran could simply declare the Strait of Hormuz at the entrance of the Gulf a war zone to send oil prices, already nearing $100 a barrel, soaring without a shot being fired.
