DEBKAfile Exclusive: A group of Muslim, Christian and Jewish clerics based in Jerusalem invited for week-end trip to Washington, prior to Annapolis meeting, to meet Bush (to embrace and sing Kumbaya?)
'Ah, peace on earth at last' - fools! They should know that the last war is going to be a religious war? It will be Muslims against Jews, Christians, and the West. Coming soon!

While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
1 Thessalonians 5:3

4They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 5But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
2 Peter 3:4-7

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

The Battle for Jerusalem-Is it already too late?
Letter from Ruth Matar (Women in Green) Jerusalem
Thursday, October 25, 2007

Dear Friends,

On Tuesday, October 23rd, two days ago, Women in Green held a demonstration at Paris Square in Jerusalem, very close to Ehud Olmert’s residence. We held posters and handed out bumper stickers saying: “Olmert is Dangerous for the Jews”, “the Land of Israel Belongs to the People of Israel”, “Jerusalem is not for Sale”, “No to a Palestinian State”, etc.

An elderly gentleman came up to me and said: “I admire you for holding this demo, but I can tell you that, unfortunately, it is not of any use what the World is planning in Annapolis is nothing short of gang rape of Israel. It is already much too late.”

I agree with this elderly gentleman that the present situation is most dangerous for Israel. Our Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, is indeed a threat to the very survival of the Jewish State.

Every day we read about Olmert’s latest concessions to Abbas with regard to Jerusalem, albeit unconfirmed:

1. Dividing Jerusalem into two parts, Jewish and Arab.

2. Handing over complete control over the Temple Mount to the Muslims.

These rumors may be “unconfirmed”, yet many Members of Knesset seem to take them very seriously. More than half of the Knesset members, from both the Opposition and Coalition factions, have already signed a petition against plans to hand over parts of Jerusalem to the Palestinian Authority, including giving the Muslims complete control over the Temple Mount.

The Knesset Members are justified in their fear. The Prime Minister asserted earlier this month that he DOES NOT NEED KNESSET APPROVAL TO REACH A JOINT DECLARATION WITH PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY CHAIRMAN MAHMOUD ABBAS.

Olmert’s insistence that there is a natural division between Arab and Jewish Jerusalem is complete fiction.

For many years, Arabs immigrating into Palestine tried to violently drive the Jews out of their homes in the holy city of Jerusalem.

The first large Arab riots took place in Jerusalem in the intermediary days of Passover, April 1920. Six Jews were killed and some 200 injured in the course of these riots. Such unrest and violence continued in Jerusalem for years, resulting in Arabs taking possession of many Jewish homes.

When you next come to Jerusalem, I suggest that you take a guided tour with the “Ateret Cohanim” organization. You will see proof of original Jewish ownership on the doorposts of what are now Arab occupied homes in the so-called “Muslim Quarter”. You can clearly observe a hollow niche where a Jewish Mezuzah was once placed!

Why did Prime Minister Ehud Olmert recently allow Arab bulldozers and other heavy equipment to be used to dig a massive trench on the Temple Mount? The Islamic Waqf custodians claimed the work was necessary to replace electrical cables. Is Prime Minister Olmert really gullible enough to believe this?

In an article by Aaron Klein of WorldNetDaily, posted October 22, 2007 he says that prominent Temple Mount archeologists accused Olmert of attempting to cover up the alleged failure to properly supervise a dig in which Islamic authorities were accused of deliberately destroying Temple Mount antiquities.

Palestinian and Muslim leaders have always routinely denied well-documented Jewish ties to the Temple Mount. Using heavy equipment in order to supposedly replace electrical cables was clearly an attempt to destroy the evidence of the two Jewish Temples!

Why did Olmert not allow the Israeli Antiquities Authority to supervise this dig? Did he not realize that the Arabs were deliberately destroying the evidence that ties the Jews to the Temple Mount?

The Temple Mount is the holiest site in Judaism! We must understand the significance of the Temple Mount to the Jews, and thus the dangers of handing over complete control over it to the Arabs.

The following is a short historical background on the Temple Mount:

Jewish tradition, from its very beginnings, has seen the Temple Mount in Jerusalem as the very center of the universe, the focal point of G-d’s connection to the Jewish people and all of mankind. The Torah relates in Genesis that the near-sacrifice of Isaac took place atop Mount Moriah, which was identified with the Mountain of G-d, the Mountain of pilgrimage that is the Temple Mount.

After King David founded Jerusalem as the capital of the kingdom of Israel, he purchased land with a granary from a Jebusite named Aravna; David’s son Solomon built a magnificent Temple there that stood for 400 years. Solomon’s Temple was designed and built as a permanent shrine on a grand scale, which would replace the Tabernacle that had served the Israelites in the desert, and in various temporary locations within the Promised Land.

Although destroyed by the Babylonians in their conquest of Judea, the Temple was rebuilt by the returning exiles, and served as the center of Jewish spiritual and material life for the next 600 years. In the reign of Herod the Great, near the beginning of the Common Era, the Temple was completely refurbished, while the Temple Mount almost doubled in size all in order to accommodate millions of pilgrims, Jews and non-Jews from all over the known world.

Almost 2000 years have passed since the Romans destroyed the Second Temple; yet committed Jews throughout the centuries, in all the lands of their exile, have prayed in the direction of their ruined Temple. To this day, Jews focus their hopes, dreams and prayers on the speedy rebuilding of the Temple, as the central condition for national and cosmic redemption.

According to the Hebrew poet Uri Zvi Greenberg (1896-1981), “whoever controls the Temple Mount controls the entire land of Israel!”

This is as true today as when Uri Zvi Greenberg originally wrote these lines.

It is imperative that we stop Ehud Olmert from treating our beloved Jerusalem and the rest of the Holy Land as his private real estate!

It is imperative that we make Olmert understand that he cannot barter away Jerusalem and the rest of our Homeland to Chairman Mahmoud Abbas without even Knesset approval!

Going back to the elderly gentleman at the demo two days ago, I agree with him that the Annapolis Conference might well turn into a gang rape of Israel.

However, it is not too late!

We must all work together to prevent a great tragedy!

IN ISRAEL, we must, at all costs, work on removing Olmert from the seat of power, so that he cannot treat Israel as his private real estate.

IN THE UNITED STATES, you, dear friends, must convince President Bush that no part of Israel is for sale!

With Blessings and Love for Israel,

Ruth Matar

Nobelauriate "Archbishop" Desmond Tutu is completely ignorant of God's plan
[quote] "Remembering what happened to you in Egypt and much more recently in Germany - remember, and act appropriately," he said, alluding to the enslavement of Jews in Egypt described in the book of Exodus, as well as to the Nazi Holocaust. "If you reject your calling, you may survive for a long time, but you will find it is all corrosive inside, and one day you will implode."

I hate it when so-called 'church leaders' completely distort the Bible! Does Anglican Archbishop Tutu even read the Bible? What's his worthless message here? "One day you will implode if you don't integrate the "peace-loving", so-called 'Palestinian nation' into the general Israeli population? What a farce! The Bible clearly says that God is once again watching over Jacob's remnant and that He will soon annihilate/vaporize all of Israel's surrounding enemies.

The true message to the Ishmaelites surrounding and terrorizing Israel is: you better hand over every speck of land between the Nile and the Euphrates rivers or face the wrath of the only God. I don't know why people choose to rile against God by rejecting what the Bible clearly says. That's plain stupid and a definite 'no-win'.

Isaiah 11:

10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious. 11 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the sea.

12 He will raise a banner for the nations
and gather the exiles of Israel;
he will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth.

13 Ephraim's jealousy will vanish,
and Judah's enemies will be cut off [cut off = killed];
Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah,
nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.

14 They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west [aka Palestinian Gaza];
together they will plunder the people to the east.
They will lay hands on Edom and Moab,
and the Ammonites will be subject to them.

So why the controversy and confusion, Mr. Tutu Nobelauriate?

Turkey hunts PKK rebels after Iraqi talks fail

This doesn't bode well for the U.S. or Iraq. As I've said about 50 times on this blog - everything within the boundaries of the ancient kingdom
of Babylon (not just the city of ancient Babylon - see Isaiah 13:5) is going to be utterly destroyed on, or just before, THE Day of the Lord. The Day of the Lord, as in the LAST DAY. Isaiah 13 talks about the Lord mustering an army "...from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens" (the U.S.? It isn't the Medes next door). I believe the first part of Isaiah 13 is talking about our present, and near future.

Put it this way, if Turkey goes to war against the PKK Kurds in northern Iraq, with it's 100,000+ troops and 'x' number of tanks poised on the border, and Iran steps up its attacks on U.S. troops in southern Iraq, and the U.S. looks like she's going to fly sorties from the Persian Gulf on Iran's nuclear facilities - WE'D ALL BETTER GET ON OUR KNEES QUICK AND PRAY Luke 21:36. Make sure you're saved, which is only possible through Christ, so that He will raise you up, dead or alive, on the last day. Yes, I said Last Day, the day when the last trumpet sounds and we true Christians are outta here. (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)

Keep your eyes wide, wide open! The Lord said He's coming back - and that 'ain't' no lie. We are living as in the days of Noah. The vast majority of people on earth do not honor the only, living God - the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel. 99.5% of people are completely oblivious to what the only God is accomplishing in our day - what a shame.

Isaiah 13: A Prophesy Against Babylon

They come from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens— the LORD and the weapons of his wrath— to destroy the whole country.

6 Wail, for the day of the LORD is near;
it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

7 Because of this, all hands will go limp, every man's heart will melt.

8 Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame.

9 See, the day of the LORD is coming
—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—
to make the land desolate
and destroy the sinners within it.

10 The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.

11 I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless.

12 I will make man scarcer than pure gold,
more rare than the gold of Ophir.

13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble;
and the earth will shake from its place
at the wrath of the LORD Almighty,
in the day of his burning anger...

19 Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms,
the glory of the Babylonians' pride,
will be overthrown by God
like Sodom and Gomorrah.

20 She will never be inhabited or lived in through all generations; no Arab will pitch his tent there, no shepherd will rest his flocks there.

Israel set to cut fuel and electricity to Gaza

How dare those Israeli's cut the utilities of terrorists who are trying to kill them. (??)

Why don't the slightly-energy-rich Arabs supply electricity and fuel if they want the qassam missiles to continue flying out of Gaza? The Arabs and Persians love to keep the Palestinians miserable so that they can protest the "inhumanity of Israel's treatment" towards them. The Palestinians could have been absorbed by the losers of the 6-Day War 39.5 years ago. Who wanted war back in 1967? It certainly wasn't Israel.

Here's the last word on Gaza:

Zephaniah 2:
4 Gaza and Ashkelon will be abandoned,
Ashdod and Ekron torn down.
5 And what sorrow awaits you Philistines
who live along the coast and in the land of Canaan,
for this judgment is against you, too!
The Lord will destroy you
until not one of you is left.
6 The Philistine coast will become a wilderness pasture,
a place of shepherd camps
and enclosures for sheep and goats.
7 The remnant of the tribe of Judah will pasture there.
They will rest at night in the abandoned houses in Ashkelon.
For the Lord their God will visit his people in kindness
and restore their prosperity again.

Today's society is (mostly) Sodom and Gomorrah

Yesterday, up here in primarily ungodly Canada, a national newspaper ran the story of California's horrific wildfires. This paper also allows readers to leave comments, so I as part of the tiny, minority Christian community in Canada, decided to post a warning that the wild fires could be God's judgment for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's signing of an "anti-family/pro-gay/pro-transexual/pro-bi-sexual" law. In case you missed the story on the signing of this bill, here it is:

'Mom' and 'Dad' banished by California
Schwarzenegger signs law outlawing terms perceived as negative to 'gays'

Upon posting my comment I immediately received a backlash from other readers that I thought I should share with you. This experience gave me a confirmation of how immoral society has become:

My comment:
God's judgment

Schwarzenegger just passed "anti-traditional family" legislation last week. Something about preventing the words: "mom and dad" in school curriculum since it's not representative of "all" CA families.

Play with fire: and that's exactly what you'll get. That isn't meant to be a funny pun or hate-speech, but a desperate warning.

Responses to my comment [my comments inserted in blue]:

Man, you god-believers have no lives, do you?

Blue Rozes from United States writes: Do you believe the same judgement (sic) for the events of Dec. 26, 2005 [I haven't had time to look up what this means yet - ??]

P Jones from NB, Canada writes: I highly doubt though that God would punish so many people indiscriminately over a decision that one individual made. Keep in mind that many of those affected by the fires may not support Arnold's decision. [God is capable of saving those who are true to Him, and destroying those who do not acknowledge Him, even in the midst of a huge, seemingly indiscriminate blaze]

F/A josquin from van, Canada writes: They [the U.S.] still believe in a non existent god in huge numbers, and odd how they are still visted (sic) by natural disasters, wars, sicknesses etc...give me a break, there is no god and we live on an unforgiving planet. Grow up

Stacey Allison from Toronto, Canada writes: [original in bold] If heaven's going to be full of judgemental (sic), homophobic, uncompassionate people like you, I'll gladly spend eternity in hell!

There was never any doubt in my mind that we are living in the last days.

1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

The rebels attacked a military unit based near the Turkish town of Kusekova with heavy weapons Sunday, Oct. 21. Another 14 soldiers were injured in Kurdish PKK ambush of their minibus. DEBKAfile adds: the attacks and sweeping parliamentary approval for a military offensive against Kurdish rebel hideouts in northern Iraq four days ago will make it hard for Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to continue to hold the army back from a large-scale cross-border incursion. Iraqi Kurds vow Sunday to fight off any Turkish incursion.

Nancy Pelosi to the rescue.
I wonder if she cares to know that her resolution is being used by God? Ya, that's right, I said "God".

Pitfalls abound if U.S. labels slaughter of Armenians a genocide
I can't help thinking that the U.S. House of Representatives proposed resolution to condemn the slaughter of 1.5 million Armenians as a genocide, is being discussed at this specific point in our history for a reason. After all, this genocide occurred way, way back in 1915. Why is it suddenly before the House of Representatives at this time, when the U.S. war on Iraq is heavily dependent on a supply base in Turkey, and peace in Northern Iraq completely depends on Turkey's cooperation?

Turkish tanks on the border of northern Iraq

I'm thinking that God is "turning up the heat", so to speak, in the Middle East, and is preparing for the complete desolation of Iraq/ancient Babylon as per Isaiah 13. But here's the really interesting thing: notice what immediately follows the utter destruction of the whole country of Babylon, in Isaiah 13:4-6

4 Listen, a noise on the mountains,
like that of a great multitude!
Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms,
like nations massing together!
The LORD Almighty is mustering
an army for war.

5 They come from faraway lands,
from the ends of the heavens—
the LORD and the weapons of his wrath—
to destroy the whole country.

6 Wail, for the day of the LORD is near;
it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

Call me utterly crazy (really I don't mind-I've been frequently called worse :)), but I'm thinking more and more that the country "from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens" that is going to "destroy the whole country" of Babylon (i.e. today's Iraq) is the U.S. and her coalition forces. Then notice what immediately follows this destruction and desolation of Babylon/Iraq in verse 6: "the day of the Lord". And this isn't just a hum-drum "day of the Lord". This is THE Day of the Lord, the Day of the Lord's judgment. Verse 10 talks about the sun being darkened and the moon not giving its light. This is key to knowing that it is THE Day of the Lord:

9 See, the day of the LORD is coming
—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—
to make the land desolate
and destroy the sinners within it.

10 The stars of heaven and their constellations
will not show their light.
The rising sun will be darkened
and the moon will not give its light.

Now turn to Matthew 24 for a reference to this day, when the sun and moon are physically darkened:

"Immediately after the distress of those days
" 'the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'[c]

30"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. [emphasis mine]

The Day of the Lord leads directly into the second coming of Christ!! Call me crazy again (I'm quite used to it), but I think we are very close to Christ's second coming. Christ's second coming is linked to the desolation of Iraq, as per Isaiah 13. Don't worry I'm not proposing an exact date, but I am proposing that we are seeing Isaiah's prophesies coming alive before our very eyes!! WE ARE PROBABLY ON THE VERY VERGE OF ONE OF THE BIGGEST MOMENTS IN ALL OF MANKIND. I don't think I could under-state this. This absolutely boggles the human mind! May the Holy Spirit minister to your soul in these last days. Be ready!

Revelation 6:

12I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

15Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16They called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?" [emphasis mine]

More examples of peace and tranquility in LBL territory:

Pakistan bomb horror overshadows Bhutto's return

Benazir Bhutto survived a suicide bomb attack that killed at least 136 people and injured 387 today. It is believed to be the deadliest bomb attack in Pakistan's history.

reports on this story Friday morning:
Officials said at least one bomb apparently had been placed in a car on the street where Bhutto's supporters had gathered to see her convoy pass. One witness told Rivers he saw a car with three people inside explode...Rivers said he and his crew, filming the convoy just before the blasts, remarked on the lack of security surrounding it. It was possible to walk right up to the side of her vehicle without being stopped, he said.

Some of my novice observations:
  • The Pakistani Information minister is quoted as saying Bhutto's convoy was "... surrounded by police and it was not possible for homicide bombers to get near it". A CNN reporter at the scene said it was possible to walk right up to Bhutto's car. So my question is: was Musharraf setting Bhutto up? (Something tells me Musharraf doesn't want to share power in January's elections -?)
  • I don't suspect things are going to get calmer in Pakistan with Bhutto's return. Keep a close eye on Pakistan because it has been infested by Islamic terrorists and, unlike Iran, it definitely has proven nuclear weapons. Two ingredients that could exponentially escalate tensions in the world and...oh ya, by the way... hasten the Gog & Magog War of Ezekiel 38. The war that I and many Messianic Jews also call "Armageddon".
  • I don't expect peaceful democracy to rule in Pakistan, the hotbed of Islamic terrorism including Bin Laden. Bhutto has said she wants to return the country to democracy, but I certainly wouldn't be so naive.
  • I hate to say it, but I don't expect former PM Benazir Bhutto to survive long in Pakistan. I'd highly recommend that she go back into exile because people don't rule in Pakistan anymore- evil spiritual principalities do (Revelation 13:4)

The following headline is more prophetic than the author even knows. I'd add that we are on the threshold of this war. But you'd only know that if you recognize the significance of 1948 and 1967 in Israel's recent history. These dates were predicted 2,500 years ago by the prophet Daniel. Sadly 99% of all humanity is sound asleep and/or blind to what God is about to accomplish:

Israel Warns World War III May be Biblical War of Gog and Magog

Map of Israel Shown in Palestinian Color

Abbas: Israel hampers progress on peace

After his meeting with Rice on Wednesday, Abbas harshly criticized Israel. "There is continuous Israeli aggression while our security forces are trying to impose law and order," he said, but it was not clear whether he was referring to a specific incident.

He mentioned Israeli plans — frozen for now — to build another settlement near Jerusalem — and its decision to resume excavations near a key Jerusalem holy site (hey Abbas, at least they're not digging a 300 foot ditch on the face of the Temple Mount! You hypocrite!). "These actions ... are hindering the endeavor to reach a document with substance, to take to the conference," he said.

Israel and the Palestinians are so far apart. Abbas' Fatah "...trying to impose law and order"? - good luck with that. The Palestinians democratically elected Hamas, which has pledged to wipe out Israel. So what chance is there for peace? Give some credit to Condoleezza for trying to achieve "peace in our time", but it is an exercise in futility. President Bush's legacy will not be final peace in the Middle East. Peace will only be achieved when one side is completely destroyed.

The Bible tells us that only Christ will restore peace in the Middle East by destroying Israel's enemies with the glory of his coming. That coming is soon. Best advice I can give is to humble yourself before the King of Kings TODAY, rather than wait until that day when every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord, but it will be too late for most people. Eternal hell is their inheritance. This isn't a pleasant message, nor a message that is preached from the pulpit much these days - but it is a true and trustworthy message. Do not reject what Christ has graciously and freely given you! Do not believe satan's message that "surely you will not die", because without Christ paying for your sins, you will suffer in hell for an eternity. What a horrible thought.

15 “The day is near when I, the Lord,
will judge all godless nations!
As you have done to Israel,
so it will be done to you.
All your evil deeds
will fall back on your own heads.
16 Just as you swallowed up my people
on my holy mountain,
so you and the surrounding nations
will swallow the punishment I pour out on you.
Yes, all you nations will drink and stagger
and disappear from history.

17 “But Jerusalem will become a refuge for those who escape;
it will be a holy place.
And the people of Israel will come back
to reclaim their inheritance.
18 The people of Israel will be a raging fire,
and Edom a field of dry stubble.
The descendants of Joseph will be a flame
roaring across the field, devouring everything.
There will be no survivors in Edom.
I, the Lord, have spoken!

19 “Then my people living in the Negev
will occupy the mountains of Edom.
Those living in the foothills of Judah
will possess the Philistine plains
and take over the fields of Ephraim and Samaria.
And the people of Benjamin
will occupy the land of Gilead.
20 The exiles of Israel will return to their land
and occupy the Phoenician coast as far north as Zarephath.
The captives from Jerusalem exiled in the north
will return home and resettle the towns of the Negev.
21 Those who have been rescued will go up to Mount Zion in Jerusalem
to rule over the mountains of Edom.
And the Lord himself will be king!”

Putin and Ahmadinejad lead Caspian Sea summit (Totally LBL territory)

The presidents of Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan agreed that no Caspian Sea country should be used as a launch-pad for a military strike against a fellow littoral nation.

DEBKAfile’s sources report this decision has bound member-states hosting US bases to withhold their use for attacking Iran.

Turkish parliament set to authorize cross-border military strikes at Kurdish rebel bases in N. Iraq, but Erdogan prefers restraint

DEBKAfile Exclusive: Rice calls off second Ramallah news conference Wednesday as her shuttle mission goes into crisis

The US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has been shuttling all week between Israel and the Palestinians, with a stopover in Cairo, in a bid to forge a joint document substantial enough to convene a Middle East conference in Maryland before the end of 2007.

She was warned by all the officials she encountered that no starting-point for final-status negotiations on a Palestinian state - and therefore no agreed document - was within reach: Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert, Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, Middle East Special Envoy Tony Blair and US diplomatic and military envoys working with the Palestinian Authority. The horizon for fulfilling the Bush vision of a two-state solution proved to be as distant as ever.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-5
1Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

Is something really going to happen on the 12th?

Now this is starting to get interesting:
DEBKAfile Exclusive: Syrian Civil Defense Services Placed on the Ready
Our military sources report exclusively that Thursday night, Oct. 11, Syria placed its civil defense services on a state of preparedness and mobilized their reservists.

Turkey: part of the LBL beast of Rev 13:2 and Dan 7

Guess who these Turks don't like.

Turks warn U.S. over genocide vote

Turkey is about to turn against its NATO partner in the 'War on Terror'. A major problem with this is that the U.S. Incirlik Air Base in Turkey is a major supply link for U.S. troops in Iraq.

Another problem: Turkey is poised to attack the Kurds in northern Iraq, which I predict will happen, since the Bible says we're marching to the final battle of all battles in the Middle East. The LBL beast is gathering the world for that final war.

Revelation 16:
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River [goes through Iraq, Syria, and Turkey and that's no coincidence], and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies toward the west without hindrance. 13 And I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs leap from the mouths of the dragon [Satan], the [Rev 13:2 LBL ] beast, and the false prophet [Mohammad]. 14 They are demonic spirits who work miracles and go out to all the rulers of the world to gather them for battle against the Lord on that great judgment day of God the Almighty.

15 “Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! [Christ comes back here] Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.”

16 And the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon.

Joel 3:
1 “At the time of those events,” says the Lord,
“when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will gather the armies of the world
into the valley of Jehoshaphat.
There I will judge them
for harming my people, my special possession,
for scattering my people among the nations,
and for dividing up my land...

9 Say to the nations far and wide:
“Get ready for war!
Call out your best warriors.
Let all your fighting men advance for the attack.
10 Hammer your plowshares into swords
and your pruning hooks into spears.
Train even your weaklings to be warriors.
11 Come quickly, all you nations everywhere.
Gather together in the valley.”
[The nations are tooling up
for war as I write this]

Palestinian Authority Cartoon Prays That Allah Will Kill Americans

Something to make you go hmmm

OK, I'm definitely not into date-setting of Christ's exact day of return, but I was casually, perhaps too casually surfing the net - actually I was reading Matthew Henry commentary - when I came across this newsletter from Jim Bramlett. He mentions some interesting info. about Oct 12, 2007 which as you know, Ahmadinejad has promised his "final nuclear response". I don't vouch for any of this stuff, but the dates about Columbus and the reference to the so-called "corrected Hebrew calendar" (see below) are somewhat intriguing. Have to say it's interesting that this "corrected calendar" has Oct 13, 2007 as the correct Feast of Trumpets (see 1 Cor 15:51-52).

Anyways, perhaps I'm being too desperate for Christ's return by posting this stuff. So if we don't see each other in heaven this weekend, forgive me, I promise to do better on the next post.

Interestingly, I should mention that my wife and I are celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary on October 12th (???!!). Now I know I have to prepare for the buying flowers at least - lol.

The atoms family
For years, Israel was the only country in the entire Middle East with a nuclear program. That's about to change.

Barak: Full missile defense ready soon
Israel is developing a shield that will protect it from threats ranging from Shihab missiles to Kassam rockets, Defense Minister Ehud Barak told the Knesset State Control Committee on Tuesday.
Message to Ahmadinejad is: attack now while Israel's defenses are at the lowest level.

An Iranian student kicks a gate of Tehran University during a protest against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as anti-riot police officers stand behind the gate, in Tehran, Iran, Monday, Oct. 8, 2007. An estimated 100 students staged a rare demonstration Monday against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, calling him a "dictator," which prompted scuffles with hardline students at Tehran University.

Students in Iran protest president "Death to the dictator," and "Free jailed students," shouted the protesters, referring to three student activists who have been jailed since May, said witnesses who asked not to be identified out of fear of repercussions.

What the world doesn't need is a desperate Ahmadinejad doing something desperate (on October 12 perhaps?). Then again, if it's God's will "let it rain", as they say. Nothing is going to happen that is outside of God's will.

Amen, come Lord Jesus. Prepare our hearts (Luke 21:36).

How long before the U.S. attacks Iran?

DEBKAfile reports:

US Gen. David Petraeus says Iranian ambassador to Baghdad is member of Revolutionary Guards al Qods Brigade

October 7, 2007, 12:13 PM (GMT+02:00)

The American military commander in Iraq accuses the Brigade, which is responsible for sponsoring external terrorism, of fomenting violence in Iraq and training and equipping militias to attack US troops. In some cases, they direct operations that have killed US soldiers, said Gen. Petraeus, speaking to reporters at a U.S. military base about 30 km from the Iranian border Saturday. He accused Iran of giving advanced weaponry to militias in Iraq. “There is no question about the connection between Iran and these components and the attacks that have killed our soldiers," said the general in reply to questions.

Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon. Revelation 16:16

What's your perspective?

An Eternal Perspective
By Dave Hunt

The brevity of life is not the most serious consequence of death. More sobering still is what the Bible warns will follow: "after this the judgment" (Heb 9:27)

This excellent article by Dave Hunt of the Berean Call (a fellow accountant, I might add) is a call to keep priorities in order. Few things man worries about in this life will matter when he has to give an account for his life before the Lord Almighty, Maker of everything, seen and unseen.

Do things that have eternal significance. In our culture this requires a complete 180-degree mind-set reversal. Amen?

19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Matthew 6:19-20

Hmm, this isn't the same speech he gave at Columbia U?

Ahmadinejad vows to abolish Israel
Tens of thousands of Iranians turned out for the march in central Tehran, carrying anti-Zionist banners, chanting “Death to Israel” and burning Israeli and American flags.

“The Palestinian people are standing firm. The Iranian people and other peoples will not stop until all of Palestinian territory is liberated,” Mr Ahmadinejad told the faithful at Tehran University.

“They (world powers) should not think that the Iranian nation and other nations in the region will take off their hands off the throat of the Zionists and their supporters.”

How long before the Gog & Magog war, where God once again supernaturally wipes out Israel's enemies?

For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. Deuteronomy 14:2

For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, Lord, art become their God.
2 Samuel 7:24

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalm 33:12

For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure. Psalm 135:4

Doubts Greet Evangelical Christians in Israel

Pray for Christians being severely persecuted in Burma

Burma Army Burns Christian Karen Villages, Satellite Images Show
3,000 villages have reportedly been destroyed by the military rulers, with 1.5 million refugees living along the country's borders. Christian rights groups estimate there are over one million Internally Displaced People within Burma, and over 150,000 refugees in Thailand. The crackdown on Karens and other predominantly Christian minorities has been linked to the junta's objection to Christianity, which it views as a threat to its ideology and powerbase.

Happy Al-Quds Day Everyone!

Ahmadinejad wants 'all Palestine liberated' (in other words: Ahmadinejad wants all Jews to be obliterated)
TEHRAN: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed on Friday Iran would work until "all of Palestine is liberated" from Israel's hands and repeated his deeply controversial questioning of the Holocaust.

"The Palestinian people are standing firm. The Iranian people and other peoples will not stop until all of Palestinian territory is liberated," Ahmadinejad said in a speech broadcast on state radio to mark Quds day.

"They (world powers) should not think that the Iranian nation and other nations in the region will take their hands off the throat of the Zionists and their supporters."

Ahmadinejad provoked an international outcry shortly after his election in 2005 when he called for Israel to be "wiped from the map" and also described the Holocaust as a "myth".

Ahmadinejad also reaffirmed his opinion that "Zionists" should move to empty lands in Europe or North America and out of the Middle East entirely.

"Europeans cannot tolerate the Zionists in their region and country, but they want to impose them on the people of the region... Give these vast lands of Canada and Alaska to them to create a country for themselves."

Millions of Iranians hold rallies to mark 'Jerusalem Day' [Jerusalem Post]

Ahmadinejad's rant sounds completely like Zechariah 12 ( circa pre-400BC):
1 This message concerning the fate of Israel came from the Lord: “This message is from the Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit. 2 I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah. 3 On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves.

Quote from Dave Hunt, Berean Call:
"Palestinians demand the return of Jerusalem as their capital. In furtherance of the Palestinian myth, King Fahd of Saudi Arabia calls on Muslim states to protect the holy city [that] belongs to all Muslims across the world!' In fact, during the many centuries when
one Muslim regime or another controlled Jerusalem, and even with the Dome of the Rock located there, it was never given any special significance in Islam. To do so is part of the recent effort to displace the Israelis, which would shock Muslims from centuries past"

Jerusalem is not mentioned once by name in the Quran. It's another fabrication of Islam. Zechariah wrote about the Muhammadans coveting Jerusalem 2,500 years ago, and God foretold what will happen when they advance against it in the future. Everyone can see this prophesy coming true today - none will be left with excuse for unbelief on the last day.
