The 40 ships and 22 planes searching for missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 have widened their search in the South China Sea area after military radar indicated that the pilot tried to turn back. The wreckage has still not been found. The plane with 227 passengers and a dozen crew aboard disappeared Saturday two hours after takeoff from Kula Lumpur for Beijing. Security authorities have discovered two more passengers using suspect passports were on the flight, in addition to the two traveling on stolen Italian and Austrian passports. Security authorities in Malaysia and China, joined by the US FBI, are looking into a possible terrorist attack on the flight among other scenarios. They are combing through airport CCTV tapes of the passengers boarding the plane. A sudden explosion would explain why the plane vanished with broadcasting a distress signal.
