Pakistan helped Taliban insurgents
Pakistani intelligence agents and paramilitary forces have helped train Taliban insurgents and have given them information about American troop movements in Afghanistan, said a report published Monday by a U.S. think tank...

"Right now, the Taliban and other groups are getting help from individuals within Pakistan's government, and until that ends, the region's long-term security is in jeopardy."

Iran: US request for a diplomatic office in Teheran would be 'deceitful'
Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani on Thursday called reports of US plans to set up a diplomatic presence in Iran a "deceitful rumor."

I'd say that's a ridiculous idea as well. In fact, I'd only propose a "diplomatic office" in Teheran if I was trying to put up a smokescreen - to keep the price of oil down, and before going to war with Iran. Then later I could claim that I made a last ditch effort to diplomatically stop Iran's uranium enrichment, but Iran was not interested.

Iran is killing American soldiers in Iraq. The US is in an undeclared war with Iran. Does it make logical sense that America would want to set up a 'diplomatic office' in the heart of Teheran? Pity the people who would have to staff that office. They probably wouldn't ever leave that office again with their heads intact.

TRUCE OVER! (and it almost lasted a whole week) Olmert, Barak: We will respond to Qassam fire
Now here's an interesting headline from CBS News:

Israel prodding U.S. to attack Iran
Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen leaves Tuesday night on an overseas trip that will take him to Israel, reports CBS News national security correspondent David Martin. The trip has been scheduled for some time but U.S. officials say it comes just as the Israelis are mounting a full court press to get the Bush administration to strike Iran's nuclear complex.

Why we as Christians can sometimes feel completely alone (and why the "plainly obvious" to us, is not obvious to others).

2 Corinthians 4:
3 If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

I imagine Noah and Lot felt completely outnumbered and overwhelmed with godlessness around them too.

Thanks to New_Beginning for finding this one:

Let's just say this is definitely a contributing factor towards $138/bbl oil.

Everything seemingly is spinning out of control (Associated Press)
Recent natural disasters around the world dwarf anything afflicting the U.S. Consider that more than 69,000 people died in the China earthquake, and that 78,000 were killed and 56,000 missing from the Myanmar cyclone.

Americans need do no more than check the weather, look in their wallets or turn on the news for their daily reality check on a world gone haywire.

Iran:'Israeli drill jeopardizes global peace and security'

Isaiah 66:
8 Who has ever seen anything as strange as this?
Who ever heard of such a thing?
Has a nation ever been born in a single day?
Has a country ever come forth in a mere moment?
But by the time Jerusalem’s[b] birth pains begin,
her children will be born.
9 Would I ever bring this nation to the point of birth
and then not deliver it?” asks the Lord.
“No! I would never keep this nation from being born,”
says your God.

10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem!
Be glad with her, all you who love her
and all you who mourn for her.
11 Drink deeply of her glory
even as an infant drinks at its mother’s comforting breasts.”

12 This is what the Lord says:
“I will give Jerusalem a river of peace and prosperity.
The wealth of the nations will flow to her.
Her children will be nursed at her breasts,
carried in her arms, and held on her lap.
13 I will comfort you there in Jerusalem
as a mother comforts her child.”

14 When you see these things, your heart will rejoice.
You will flourish like the grass!
Everyone will see the Lord’s hand of blessing on his servants—
and his anger against his enemies.
15 See, the Lord is coming with fire,
and his swift chariots roar like a whirlwind.
He will bring punishment with the fury of his anger
and the flaming fire of his hot rebuke.
16 The Lord will punish the world by fire
and by his sword.
He will judge the earth,
and many will be killed by him.

Israeli ministers mull plans for military strike on Iran

"An Israeli attack will be seen as a US attack. Iran will retaliate against both Israel and the US." The consequences, says Riedel, would be fatal. "We will see a Middle East in flames." Nevertheless, in Israel it is no longer a matter of whether there will be a military strike, but when.

Iran warns of strong blow if Israel attacks

"If enemies especially Israelis and their supporters in the United States would want to use a language of force, they should rest assured that they will receive a strong blow in the mouth," senior cleric Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said in his Friday prayers sermon.

Peace at that won’t last

Obviously, nobody in the media reads or believes the Bible anymore. It's absolutely clear that no lasting peace will exist until Christ comes back to administer justice in the Middle East and everywhere else.

From where I sit, this world looks a lot like the Sodom and Gomorrah God destroyed in a firestorm before. Is it too soon for God to do it again?

I don't hear the following verse much in today's churches. Warnings are no longer being sent out by today's Laodicean church.

7 And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

Threats to strike Iran are unhelpful
There is also a fear that the comments will lead Iran to take extra precautions in defending its nuclear installations and begin to relocate and scatter some of them throughout the country...Following Mofaz's comments, defense officials said the remark was damaging for Israel, which, as a policy, preferred to not stand at the forefront of international efforts to stop Iran's nuclear program. After Mofaz made the remarks, oil prices skyrocketed by over $10.

Rice: US favours diplomacy in Iran nuclear row

I think the US's new focus on diplomacy could be a smoke-screen to avoid $800/bbl oil, which would obviously crush industrialized economies. We're headed for conflict: Iran's not backing down on enrichment; Israel will not patiently wait on Iran forever. There's a chance of regime change in Iran, but I don't think so.

CAIR: Civil rights or extremism?
... CAIR co-founder and former board chairman, Omar Ahmad, once declared that the Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, “should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth” (San Ramon Valley Herald, Calif., July 4, 1998)

The future belongs to Islam

The Muslim world has youth, numbers and global ambitions. The West is growing old and enfeebled, and lacks the will to rebuff those who would supplant it. It's the end of the world as we've known it. An excerpt from 'America Alone'.

MARK STEYN | Oct 20, 2006 | Maclean's magazine

Regarding this article:

Under Canadian law, there is a serious argument that the article contained hate speech and that its publisher, Maclean's magazine, the nation's leading newsweekly, should be forbidden from saying similar things, forced to publish a rebuttal and made to compensate Muslims for injuring their "dignity, feelings and self respect."

The British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, which held five days of hearings on those questions in Vancouver last week, will soon rule on whether Maclean's violated a provincial hate speech law by stirring up animosity toward Muslims.

ABC network asks: Are we living in the last century of our civilization?
Is it possible that all of our technology, knowledge and wealth cannot save us from ourselves? Could our society actually be heading towards collapse? According to many of the world's top scientists, the answer is yes, unless we take action now.

ABC is asking the same question I've been thinking about for a couple years now on this blog: does our civilization even have a hundred years of life left? However, ABC and the top scientists think it's possible for us to save ourselves. Obviously, I adamantly disagree.

It completely amazes me how God has laid it all out between Genesis and Revelation - the story of our civilization from beginning to end - and yet the vast majority refuse to submit and believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The nation of Israel is a modern day miracle that is staring each of us right in the face today - is it possible to ignore 2,500 year old prophesy that predicted her reappearance and divine protection? Apparently it is.

The verse I posted last night talks about what will happen to those who refuse to believe. We cannot "save ourselves" from what Isaiah prophesied is yet to come...probably in our life times.

Re-established Israel is being harassed by her neighbors. What does the Bible clearly say will happen next?!

Jeremiah 23
The Righteous Descendant
“What sorrow awaits the leaders of my people—the shepherds of my sheep—for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for,” says the Lord.

2 Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to these shepherds: “Instead of caring for my flock and leading them to safety, you have deserted them and driven them to destruction. Now I will pour out judgment on you for the evil you have done to them. 3 But I will gather together the remnant of my flock from the countries where I have driven them. I will bring them back to their own sheepfold, and they will be fruitful and increase in number. 4 Then I will appoint responsible shepherds who will care for them, and they will never be afraid again. Not a single one will be lost or missing. I, the Lord have spoken!

5 “For the time is coming,”
says the Lord,
“when I will raise up a righteous descendant[a]
from King David’s line.
He will be a King who rules with wisdom.
He will do what is just and right throughout the land.
6 And this will be his name:
‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’[b]
In that day Judah will be saved,
and Israel will live in safety.

7 “In that day,” says the Lord, “when people are taking an oath, they will no longer say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who rescued the people of Israel from the land of Egypt.’ 8 Instead, they will say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the people of Israel back to their own land from the land of the north and from all the countries to which he had exiled them.’ Then they will live in their own land.”

Hmmm, Pakistan is in LBL territory. Another US enemy in the making, plus they're predominantly militant muslim, and... they have proven nukes. Plot thickens.

The US has released video excerpts of a controversial air strike in the Afghan-Pakistani border region which Pakistan says killed 11 of its soldiers.
The US said the footage proves that US forces were legitimately targeting pro-Taliban militants.

The only problem for the US is that Pakistan has the bodies to prove something went wrong. Somebody's lying.

Pakistan's military has condemned an air strike by US forces that killed 11 of its troops as a "cowardly attack".

Ahmadinejad says Bush administration can't hurt Iran
It's Bush's dream to harm Iran's nation,'' Ahmadinejad said today during a televised speech in the western Iranian city of Shahre Kord. ``You thought you would be able to do something but your term came to an end and you will not be capable of harming even 1 centimeter of Iran's sacred land.''
This doesn't sound like a man getting ready to attack Iran...

Bush regrets his legacy as a man who wanted war
President Bush has admitted to The Times that his gun-slinging rhetoric made the world believe that he was a “guy really anxious for war” in Iraq. He said that his aim now was to leave his successor a legacy of international diplomacy for tackling Iran.

Canada's judicial system is going straight to hell

Government to pastor: Renounce your faith!
Now banned from expressing moral opposition to homosexuality
"This is like a Third World jail-house confession – where accused criminals are forced to sign false statements of guilt," Levant wrote. "We don’t even 'order' murderers to apologize to their victims' families. Because we know that a forced apology is meaningless. But not if your point is to degrade Christian pastors."

Oh, it can't be long.

Luke 17:26-30 (NLV)

26 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 27 In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all.

28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building—29 until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Genesis 19:
Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed

1 That evening the two angels came to the entrance of the city of Sodom. Lot was sitting there, and when he saw them, he stood up to meet them. Then he welcomed them and bowed with his face to the ground. 2 “My lords,” he said, “come to my home to wash your feet, and be my guests for the night. You may then get up early in the morning and be on your way again.”

“Oh no,” they replied. “We’ll just spend the night out here in the city square.”

3 But Lot insisted, so at last they went home with him. Lot prepared a feast for them, complete with fresh bread made without yeast, and they ate. 4 But before they retired for the night, all the men of Sodom, young and old, came from all over the city and surrounded the house. 5 They shouted to Lot, “Where are the men who came to spend the night with you? Bring them out to us so we can have sex with them!”

6 So Lot stepped outside to talk to them, shutting the door behind him. 7 “Please, my brothers,” he begged, “don’t do such a wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two virgin daughters. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do with them as you wish. But please, leave these men alone, for they are my guests and are under my protection.”

9 “Stand back!” they shouted. “This fellow came to town as an outsider, and now he’s acting like our judge! We’ll treat you far worse than those other men!” And they lunged toward Lot to break down the door.

10 But the two angels[a] reached out, pulled Lot into the house, and bolted the door. 11 Then they blinded all the men, young and old, who were at the door of the house, so they gave up trying to get inside.

12 Meanwhile, the angels questioned Lot. “Do you have any other relatives here in the city?” they asked. “Get them out of this place—your sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone else. 13 For we are about to destroy this city completely. The outcry against this place is so great it has reached the Lord, and he has sent us to destroy it.”

Genesis 9:
The Flood

5 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. 6 So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. 7 And the Lord said, “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.” 8 But Noah found favor with the Lord.

$45 TRILLION NEEDED TO COMBAT 'GLOBAL WARMING'
Ah...ya, we'll get right on that

It's like rearranging the deck chairs of the Titanic.

Instead fear God

2 Peter 3:6-12

6 Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. 7 And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

11 Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, 12 looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames.

Revelation 14:7
He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water."

Israeli minister threatens Iran JERUSALEM, June 6 (Reuters) - An Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites looks "unavoidable" given the apparent failure of sanctions to deny Tehran technology with bomb-making potential, one of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's deputies said on Friday.

An undetectable route to Iran
Imagine this: Ten fighter jets take off from a base in northern Israel, fly over Jordan, Iraq and into Iran to bomb air-defense missile systems, radar stations and nuclear facilities. They then leave Iranian airspace safely without sustaining any enemy fire.

US House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Howard Berman said he was open to removing the restriction on F-22 sales to boost Israeli deterrence...The defense establishment has long eyed the stealth F-22 "Raptor" as a bulwark to Israel's air capabilities, but a US law banning its sale abroad has prevented Israel from acquiring the top-of-the-line plane.

UN-believable

Washington, DC — When the so-called mainstream media doesn’t want you to know something they simply spike the story – meaning they just don’t cover it.

In carefully obfuscated language, the IAEA notes that “substantive explanations are required from Iran to support its statements on the alleged studies and on other information with a possible military dimension.” The report also observes, “the alleged studies on the green salt project, high explosives testing and the missile re-entry vehicle project remain a matter of serious concern. Clarification of these is critical to an assessment of the nature of Iran’s past and present nuclear programme.”

Iran not seeking to build nuclear weapons: Putin...
Asked if Iran was trying to acquire nuclear weapons, Putin replied: "I don't believe so. Nothing indicates it."
