Rice: US favours diplomacy in Iran nuclear row

I think the US's new focus on diplomacy could be a smoke-screen to avoid $800/bbl oil, which would obviously crush industrialized economies. We're headed for conflict: Iran's not backing down on enrichment; Israel will not patiently wait on Iran forever. There's a chance of regime change in Iran, but I don't think so.

Iran Has Technology for a Nuclear Warhead to Fit Shehab-3 Missile
Some Western military and intelligence were shocked to learn that Iran had the blueprints for making a nuclear warhead that could fit onto its Shehab-3 missiles. The discovery was released by the former UN weapons inspector, David Albright, Sunday, June 16

re california from comments on previous thread: i lived in CA for a little while. i moved away partially because i didn't want my son growing up in that culture (also the cost of living is insane.) that being said, there are quite a few conservatives in the state. it's just that they keep getting overridden/shoutted down by the libs. the voters in a recent referendum, by 61% in a very liberal state, voted for marriage to be between only a man and a woman. the state supreme court simply blew that off. how that happens in a supposed democracy is beyond me.

re iran: there's some funny/strange stuff going on. the mdeia seems to being playing it up that bushh all of the sudden is a dove on iran. like you said, i'm thinking smokescreen.

At least you had a vote. Up here there was no "vote" because, they say, minority rights are not subject to a vote by the majority. In a way I can see their point on that, but that doesn't stop them from openly discriminating against Christians (we get fined for preaching against sodomy like Christians have preached for 2000 years).

But like you said, the CA supreme court didn't pay any attention to your referendum, so voting wasn't much help either.

This is an evil generation.
