Will '1967 + 40 years' be significant?

I have no idea. But I find it interesting that there's a hastily organized Mid-east (aka Israel and her surrounding enemies) peace conference with 50 worldwide invitees next week; Iran is continuing to ignore the West over nuclear enrichment; Lebanon is about to explode into (another) civil war; nuclear Pakistan is in political chaos; Turkey still has tens of thousands of troops poised on the northern border with Iraq; Chinese and Russian relations with the West are worsening; the Western economies are threatened by a major recession due to the sub-prime mortgage fiasco and a barrel of oil approaching+$100/bbl; and Israel, or PM Olmert at least, is contemplating making major land-for-peace concessions that may even re-divide Jerusalem.

I get the gut feeling we're living in (what will be regarded in retrospect) as one of the most important generations in all human history. There's so much going on around the Holy Land today, plus we're living in the period of post-May 14, 1948 (The re-establishment of Israel) - it feels like a trap is about to spring shut.

Luke 17:
26
"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

28"It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

30"It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

Luke 21:
34"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.

Where did you get that snazzy picture? I like it!

Even if the "world doesn't end" I would bet that future generations will be like, "Wow! I bet they were tense back then!"

No doubt.
