Psalm 83 [my emphasis]:

4
"Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more."

5 With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you-

6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab and the Hagrites,

7 Gebal, Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia, with the people of Tyre.

8 Even Assyria has joined them to lend strength to the descendants of Lot.

The Saudi's and Iran's Ahmadinejad are now 'best buddies'. They are forming an alliance, I'd call it an 'axis of evil'. And Washington approves?

DEBKAfile Exclusive: Saudi-Iranian rapprochement gains impetus with Washington’s blessing. Saudi king Abdullah has invited Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to be the first Islamic Republic president to perform the pilgrimage to Mecca, which begins on Dec. 18. It will be their second public appearance together in two weeks. Their first was at the GCC summit in Doha, where they arrived hand in hand. [There's that 'December 18th' date again-?? Most likely just a coincidence, but like I said a couple posts ago - Haggai 2:18-23 has been burning a hole in my brain lately.].

I'm probably (I am) trying too hard to 'date-set', especially after reading this website whose author is convinced that God told her 20 years ago that the rapture will be in 2007. The 6-Day War victory and the re-conquering of Jerusalem by Israel in 1967, plus 40 years (one Biblical generation) = 2007. I can buy that!

Daniel 12:7 talks about the gap between the "3rd year of Cyrus" and 1967 - that is, it takes us from when Daniel wrote Daniel 12:7, and the year 1967 when Israel retook Jerusalem. Hmmm, this is getting interesting, if nothing else.

I think you all need to be a little bit careful in your date setting. Jesus Him self said He didn't know the date of His return, only the Father did. And lets face it, not only did Jesus have the same Bible texts you guy's are using, He was the author of these text's. And Jesus said it plainly, to not try and set a date for His return.

Hi Tom, Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour, but we should know the season- and thats the season we're in now. Dec. 18 may very well be a signpost on the last days highway, whether an exit sign or a milemarker remains to be seen.

Tom,

Point taken. What I'm trying to develop is an awareness of the general time, or season, we are in. Unfortunately, most people have no clue what "season" we're in, and that includes many Christians. Jesus explicitly told us to "watch" (Mark 13:35-36). I probably should not have mentioned the December 18th date of Haggai, and after this post, I will no longer do that. I do think that 99.9% of all people (Christian and secular) have missed the meaning of Daniel's day's prophesies, which I'm pretty sure point to 1948 and 1967. Instead they are waiting for the C.I. Scofield ending of a re-united Roman empire conglomerate of 10 nations. The majority, in my humble opinion, have completely gone "off the rails" of what Daniel's prophesies are all about. For that reason, I guess, I've been perhaps a little over-zealous, in promoting the importance of this year, 2007. 1967 was very important in God's calendar, so we need to be fully alert to one generation post-1967 "1967+40" whether this becomes a significant year or not.

That said though, I can't help thinking that all these people on the "Rapture 2007" website I linked to, who say that 2007 is "the" year, if they are wrong will dissuade a lot of people from watching for Christ's return altogether. Is this a ploy of Satan? I don't know. I can't readily test the spirits of those people who "have seen visions of a 2007 rapture". And that's one of the dangers of the internet. We don't really know who, or what spirit, we are listening or talking to. I have no doubt Satan uses this anonymity to his advantage to discourage true believers, and to masquerade as an angel of light.

no one knows the day or the hour- I found this interesting:

The shofar is blown one hundred times during the Feast of Trumpets, using four distinct types of sounds. The tekiah is a long, continuous blast signifying joy and contentment. Three shorter blasts is called the shevarim, and breaking that into three sets of triplets, or nine staccato notes, is known as the truah. These three blasts are repeated throughout the festival, but at the very end comes the tekiah gedolah, or "great blast"--the last trumpet. Sound familiar? "We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed--in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet."
Yes, the Feast of Trumpets is prophetic of the rapture of the Church. Does this mean that the rapture must happen on The Feast of Trumpets--in September or October? The return of Yahshua for His Church has been considered imminent ever since the Day of Pentecost. But that doesn’t negate the fact that every single one of the Feasts of Yahweh that have already come to pass has been fulfilled on the very day of its Levitical directive. That’s more than a little significant, if you ask me. Though trying to guess the date of the rapture is a fool’s errand, I must admit that during the last decade or so, I’ve occasionally caught myself glancing up at the clouds on autumn mornings and grinning. I can’t help it.
But doesn’t saying the rapture will fall on Yom Teruah fly in the face of Yahshua’s statement that "of that day and hour no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only"? (Matthew 24:36) No, not even on the face of it. Yahshua is very precise about what He tells us. We still don’t know the day or the hour, because we don’t know the year. But there’s another factor buried in the cultural baggage surrounding the statement--something that gets lost in the translation. Remember what I reported about the shofar being blown to confuse the devil? The Feast of Trumpets is also known as Yom Hakeseh--"the Day of the Hiding," or simply the "Hidden Day." It was to be, according to Jewish tradition, symbolically "hidden" from Satan--so the accuser couldn’t be effective in accusing anybody. I know it sounds as stupid as it is naive, but it introduced an idiom into Jewish speech that was reflected in Yahshua’s enigmatic statement. Following this tradition, Jewish believers never actually stated when the Feast would come, although everybody knew it fell on the first day of Tishri. They merely remarked, tongue in cheek, "Of that day and hour no one knows, only the Father." Unfortunately, Satan’s not that dumb. But the fact remains, the only day of the year that was described this way--as being hidden--was the Feast of Trumpets, Yom Teruah, Yom Hakeseh. Yahshua was indicating by His use of the idiom that He would "gather His elect" on the Feast of Trumpets in some unspecified future year.

Thanks Jamie. I too was keeping an eye on the sky in mid-September (13th?), 2007. But I don't know if the "Last Trumpet" is a Levitical trumpet, or the 7th trumpet of Revelation, like Skolfield thinks. ??? Someday soon we'll know for sure.

I know it sounds like a cliche or whatever.. but.. I am SO ready to go.

One of my wife's friends got diagnosed with a brain tumor.. and there's nothing the docs can do about it. When I found this out I was immediately struck with a mixture of sadness and jealousy.

How terrible of me, I know.. but its true.

Hi Jeepthang, so sorry to hear about your wifes friend....its so difficult for those 'left behind'. I'm soooo ready as well, but I have loved ones who aren't ready so I'm thankful for Gods mercy in delaying His coming.

I'm still looking for the bloodmoon info- all I know for sure is that significant things have happened at that time in the past and the next one is in Feb.

Endtime, I'm with Skofield on the last trump. I looked up to the sky one day last week, and between the pines there was a perfect cross in a clear blue sky [airplane trails]. I could almost hear the trumpet sound!!

JT,

Jealous of a brain tumor? ONLY possible with the true hope of a Christian I say. Well, look on the "bright side" then: we're all just a vapor in the time of eternity. The fantastic thing about being a Christian, of course, is that it only gets infinitely better after this life.

Jamie,

Not that God "needs' the sun, moon and earth to align themselves for a blood moon and the Day of the Lord to take place, but February/08 is a very handy time if one were to have a...oh I don't know...say a rapture of the church in December/07?? Ya, that would be perfect-LOL! All in the heavenly Father's time - and that's pretty cool too to just wait on the Lord's timing.

I had the day off work today, and my wife and I had a great time reading the Bible and praying for her unsaved family members. So we have a burden to bear pertaining to the unsaved as well. Whether I live to see it or die before, it's going to be a great day for the redeemed when the Saviour returns. Almost can't wait.

It will be good to meet you guys face to face... when the time comes.

Hopefully the wait will be short.
