Pakistan's got Bin Laden. Pakistan's got nukes.

Pakistan emergency prompts US to review aid
Reuters Canada
Pakistan police rounded up hundreds of people on Sunday after President Pervez Musharraf defied US pressure and widespread domestic opposition by imposing a state of emergency...
Veteran Islamist Qazi Hussein Ahmed, leader of the opposition religious alliance, called for street protests to overthrow "the military dictator."

Musharraf is all that stands between radical Islam and nuclear weapons. If Musharraf is deposed, Lord knows who would (will?) come to power. Restoring democracy in Pakistan is probably not a good thing. The U.S. should get off Musharraf's back and tread lightly. Put it this way: if Bin Laden was able to run in a democratic election there, he'd probably win.

Oh wow.. that would be nuts!

Well.. really and truly, nothing surprises me anymore. Just more proof that the world has gone (not "is going") off the deep end.

Interesting times, sayeth the Chinese.
