a) 26"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
b) 34I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."
I don't think vs. 34 & 35 are implying that exactly half will encounter God's wrath. I think God will save those redeemed by him...and the rest are 'toast'.
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Back in Noah's day, only 8 were saved because only 8 acknowledged and obeyed God - the rest were destroyed. Same thing in Sodom and Gomorrah.
