Hundreds die as Georgia war escalates
“I can’t understand their logic. Why are they bombing civilians?” said Nick Kipshidze, a local doctor.

Hi ET,
We are moving into very dangerous times. Georgia has been a very strong U.S., E.U., and NATO supporter. Georgia has sent Peace Keepers to Iraq and have been very pro-west. If the US or the EU turns their back on Georgia during their time of need, All the former Eastern block countries will fall like dominos. I fear that the EU will do nothing. NATO will do nothing with leaves the US.

In the US, the blogs are full of devisiveness. I fear we will do nothing as well.

Rest assured the EU and NATO will do nothing. I doubt that the US will be able to do anything. What can the Bush Administration do other than fling harsh words at Russia? Is it really worth starting WWIII? But I think a big war is just around the corner nonetheless, and the war in Georgia is heating things up even more.

You know what I can't get? What do non-Christians do when they see all the turmoil in the world today? I guess they're mostly comfortably numb. As a Christian we can understand the guidbook, the Bible, of what is coming right around the next proverbial corner. Israel is back and flourishing in her land and Christ is just around that next corner.

Amen.
I swear, if it were not for my Christian faith. I'd be losing sleep at night. I sent a note off to a friend of mine in the US Embassy T'Bilisi to see what the mindset is there. In the corridors of Main State, it is business as usual, which is a little concerning.

My vacation is over on Aug. 15th and I'll be a bit more tapped into what is happening.

I agree with you. I beleive God has started the stopwatch clicking to for the final count down. My wife and I were talking last night and feel that we've had a very good vacation but that it will probably be the last such one we get.

Oh, you may be able to get another couple vacations in, but you're right, the end seems imminent to the few who are watching through the correct eschatological lenses. We can all just take comfort that God is in control as he brings these ever more tumultuous times to an end. Our job is to get the word out to the very few who are willing to listen.

Gotta get to work. Have a great day!
