Damascus No More

One of the world's most ancient, continuously inhabited cities could become a radioactive wasteland in our day (or perhaps even: "today").

DEBKAfile, Assad holds Tel Aviv hostage against Turkish, NATO attack on Syria
Syria, Iran and Hizballah have charted a coordinated military operation for flattening metropolitan Tel Aviv, Israel's financial, industrial and cultural center, with thousands of missiles launched simultaneously by all three - plus the Palestinian Hamas and Jihad Islami firing from the Gaza Strip.

Israel reacted with a warning of its own: If a single Syrian missile explodes in Tel Aviv, Damascus will be first to pay the price, and if the missile offensive persists, one Syrian town after another will be destroyed.

This of course could be followed by any or all of Ezekiel 38, Zechariah 12, Joel 3, Isaiah 11:14-16, Psalm 83 et al. One thing is clear: the end of this age is very near.

Isaiah 17:
  1 A prophecy against Damascus:
“See, Damascus will no longer be a city
but will become a heap of ruins.
