2010's world gone wild: Quakes, floods, blizzards
"This was the year the Earth struck back.

Earthquakes, heat waves, floods, volcanoes, super typhoons, blizzards, landslides and droughts killed at least a quarter million people in 2010 - the deadliest year in more than a generation. More people were killed worldwide by natural disasters this year than have been killed in terrorism attacks in the past 40 years combined.

'It just seemed like it was back-to-back and it came in waves,' said Craig Fugate, who heads the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency. It handled a record number of disasters in 2010."

Luke 21:
25 “And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. 26 People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. 28 So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”

Hi LS,

I didnt' read/view all of that, yet. Generally, I have a couple problems with doomsdayers...

Matthew 24:36, 40 & 42:
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, [not the Mayans], but only the Father." "Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with the hand mill; one will be taken and the other left." "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come."

Luke 17:
28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building—29 until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Acts 1:
6 Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.

When Christ comes back it'll be like it is today-business as usual There's general expectation that Christ is coming back soon, but we will be carrying on with our business right up to when Christ is revealed.

Secondly, we don't know exactly when Christ is coming back. However, Israel is back in their land (or part of their land); Jerusalem is no longer being trampled on by the Gentiles, so the general expectation is of his soon return.

You will find in my writing that I do not believe in a pre-tribulation mysterious rapture, and a second chance for the subsequently converted. I believe we will ALL be transformed in the twinkling of an eye at the LAST trumpet (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). And the last trumpet is mentioned in Revelation and in Matthew 24:

30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

I only see one second coming for all of God's children. Those are my thoughts.

i don't know about the rest of the article, all i saw was the video. i just thought it was interesting that it used the effects on the earth passing thru the galactic gravatational plane as a means by wich some of the disasters mentioned in the bible could occur. some in the video were doomers but others pointed out that turmoil short of a cataclysm could happen.

i had thought you believed in the rapture -- glad to hear otherwise. the rapture never made sense to me: why a bunch of pampered boomers get to escape when many in the church in the prior two millenia had their heads cut off for their faith.

merry christmas to you and yours!
