France chooses sides in the next war

France to supply Lebanon with 100 anti-tank missiles: "Shipment to be delivered by February with no conditions attached, French official says; letter of confirmation sent to PM Hariri."

Does America need another distraction to delay collapse?

"South Korean troops geared up Saturday for artillery drills on a border island shelled by North Korea last month despite Pyongyang's threat to retaliate again, as Russia and China expressed concerns over tensions on the volatile peninsula.

The North warned Friday that it would strike even harder than before if the South went ahead with its planned drills. Four people died last month in the North's attack on Yeonpyeong Island near the tense sea border."

about that story of the french selling arms to leb.: no doubt europeans canbe kinda weasely, but with modern electroniclly controller weapons it's easy to insert a "kill" switch. there's a story at this site, which i can't find just now, where the russians are warning against buying arms from americans/europeans for just such a reason.
