UN Council extends Lebanon peace force for year

And in a reference to the speech of U.S. envoy Alejandro Wolff, Russian delegate Igor Shcherbak criticized comments on the alleged smuggling of arms into Lebanon from Syria, which has long-standing ties with Moscow.

Such issues "do not relate to this text which we have just adopted," he said.

But Wolff later told reporters the point was relevant because smuggled arms were used against UNIFIL, which lost six Spanish peacekeepers in a June 24 car bombing. "How these two things are unrelated I'm not sure I understand," he said.

'Abbas definitely won't seek reelection'
A report in a Gulf-based newspaper claimed this week that the Americans were grooming PA Prime Minister Salaam Fayad as Abbas's successor.

Comments:
  • The UN will likely be in Lebanon for more than a year, unless Christ comes back within the next 365 days (quite possible).
  • The US will never be able to satisfy the followers of Hamas. Ignoring the Gaza strip will only make Hamas more desperate and determined to work for Iran. Expect the confrontation to escalate.
  • Fatah is being portrayed by Hamas as "dirty rats that must be killed by the Hamas lion". You'll never get these two groups to work together, and certainly not towards peace with Israel.
Joel 3
Judgment against Enemy Nations
1 [a]“At the time of those events,” says the Lord, “when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat.[b] There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land. 3 They threw dice[c] to decide which of my people would be their slaves. They traded boys to obtain prostitutes and sold girls for enough wine to get drunk. 4 “What do you have against me, Tyre and Sidon [Lebanon] and you cities of Philistia [the Gaza Strip]? Are you trying to take revenge on me? If you are, then watch out! I will strike swiftly and pay you back for everything you have done.
[my comments in parenthesis]

Does Joel 3 not talk directly about our time, our generation?! The context of Joel 3 is just prior to the Day of the Lord. The prosperity of Judah has been restored, the world has and is being gathered to Israel. Do you notice how much of the UN's time is spent mishandling Jerusalem and Israel? Are you noticing how much time the media spend on Jerusalem and Israel? Are you noticing how the latest threats against Israel are emanating out of Tyre, Sidon, (Lebanon) and ancient Philistia (Gaza) just like Joel 3 says? How much longer does the world have before Judgment Day?

Psalm 58:
10 The godly will rejoice when they see injustice avenged. They will wash their feet in the blood of the wicked. 11 Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”
