Ahh, peace and security.

Report: Syria accepts chemical weapons proposal
"Syria has accepted a Russian proposal aimed at averting a U.S. military strike, Russia's Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.
After "a very fruitful round of talks" with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday, "we agreed to the Russian initiative," Syrian Foreign Minister Foreign Minister Walid Moallem was quoted as saying."

Oh, wait a minute, looks like we have "peace at last." Syria has accepted the "Russian initiative" as rhetorically offered by Secretary John Kerry yesterday. Now both Syria and Iran are on the same track of obfuscating their chemical and nuclear weapons from the international community...and Obama has a way out from under the crushing weight of public disapproval.

I don't expect much from Obama's speech tonight (or any time); he will likely just attempt to take partial credit for the Russian proposal by saying that he and Putin have been talking about it for the last months and years. Whew WWIII averted? Don't count on it!

Isaiah 17:1
This message came to me concerning Damascus:

“Look, the city of Damascus will disappear!
It will become a heap of ruins.

1 Thessalonians 5:
3 While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.
