Syria says
Golan Heights or else!
After saying that "Syria wishes to revive the peace process with Israel with the help of US and Russian mediators," Bilal immediately added a threat, saying that "if Israel [rejects] the Arab peace initiative, the only way to get the Golan Heights back would be the way of resistance."

Olmert says ready for talks based on Saudi plan
"I'm ready to sit with them on the basis of the Saudi plan. And I'm ready to listen very carefully to their proposal on the basis of this plan and to see how we can work together to ultimately find common ground," Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in an interview.

Today's news is filled with more idle talk of "peace" in the Holy Land. In my opinion, this talk of "peace or else" threatening Israel reminds me of 1 Thessalonians 5:2-4. The 2002 peace initiative being proposed by the Saudi's includes the return of all territories captured by Israel during the 1967, 6-Day War, including East Jerusalem as a capital of Palestine, and the Palestinian "right of return". The Bible tells me that the time of the Gentiles controlling Jerusalem is done and was finished after the 6-Day War in 1967 (Luke 21:24). So all this talk of peace and talk of returning East Jerusalem (all of Jerusalem?) to the Palestinians will not happen. And if Syria and Saudi Arabia continue to make threats that it is this "2002 Saudi Plan or else", then I'd say we all better get ready to see God move in ways this crumbling earth hasn't seen since Noah.

1 Thessalonians 5:
3
While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

Matthew 24:
26"So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. 27For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

29"Immediately after the distress of those days
" 'the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

30"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

32"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. 34I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

The fig tree is Israel since May 14, 1948. Jesus is standing "at the door."

Luke 21:36
Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able
to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."

Pray that you are able to escape the day of God's wrath: The Day of the Lord.

Hi endtime- I couldn't agree more. there is no way Jerusalem will once more fall into 'gentile' hands. The six-day war was a miricle of God.TheUSA even provided intelligence to the Arab countries during that war and it didn't affect the outcome at all. Whats going to happen next is anyones guess, but we know God has an 'appointed time' for everything.

I watched alot of Holocaust coverage Sunday. I am thankful to know that 'Jacobs Trouble' is over, according to Scripture. My thought is that all those who care for Israel and the Jewish people would be happy to know that Skofield has 'de-coded the past' and that this period of Jewish history has been fulfilled!

Good morning Jamie,

Yes, Jacob's trouble is over. It struck me this past weekend when I was reading a book by John F. Walvoord, how far off my understanding of the end times is from those who believe in an secret rapture. Walvoord was one of the most ardent supporters of an upcoming secret rapture. He stated in the book that Israel will once again have to flee Jerusalem from the "future" anti-Christ because Matthew 24 says:

15"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,'spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house. 18Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. 19How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.

Walvoord didn't see the anti-Christ according to Daniel's days prophesies, so he thought (he's dead now) that this will happen when the anti-Christ is revealed after the rapture.

But my question is how will Israel again be dispersed (take flight) from Judea?! He obviously didn't understand what Skolfield identified as the anti-Christ. The pre-tribulation, secret rapture believers have a completely different understanding of where we are in Revelation. It's personally frustrating for me because I had a big argument about Skolfield's contentions last summer with my parents, and my parents then gave me the Walvoord book, which I am now having so many disagreements with. My parents have been Christians forever, so it was really frustrating when they stuck to their secret rapture belief, without even taking a brief glance at Skolfield's book and articles. I honestly just wanted their opinion, but they didn't even want to touch anything as "blasphemous as Skolfield". I know I am not being deceived because I have spent hours in prayer and contemplation of Skolfield's writings and the Bible right next to each other. I've spent a great deal of time lately verifying Skolfield's "end of sacrifices" date of 583BC. So far I've found this date and the rest of Skolfield to be pretty well "air tight" and reliable. I just wish more people would be willing to venture out of their comfy "secret rapture next" corners and see what the Bible is really saying about how close we are to the very end of the world.

With 1948 and 1967 being so close to our present day, what you and I know, makes prophetic scripture come alive. Everything fits in our view of these last days. There's no scripture that has to be manipulated to fit my/our view of where we are headed. The Bible's revelations are amazing, but too few understand where we are on God's timeline.

I'm ranting again, Jamie, so I'll stop here and just wish you a great day. Thanks for visiting my blog! Keep looking at the timeclock of Israel.

Hi Endtime,
I really appreciate your blog site. You may remember me from the Joel Rosenberg site. I'm a very new Borne-again Christian still working on reclaiming my faith in Christ. Your blog is very helpful.

I have a couple questions I would love to get your thoughts on. I've noticed on Joel's site that some folks write God as G_d. Why? Is it bad to write it the other way?

Secondly, you and Skolfield are very precise about dates. The year 2012 seems to keep coming up in conversations that I've had with family recently. I have a brother who believe that will be the end of the world. Do you have any thoughts on that year?

Please keep up the great postings. I appreciate everyone.

New_Beginning,

I think some people write "G_d" out of respect for God. I also googled "G_d" and found this explanation:

Hebrew, Egyptian and a few other languages wrote only consonants -- no vowels. This is why Jews spell out Jehovah's name, YAHWEH, as YHWH (no vowels). So instead of typing out "God" in modern English, many Jews choose to use the term "G_d" to show respect.

About Skolfield and me being precise on dates, most of the dates I mention on this blog and at Joel Rosenberg's blog are from Skolfield - I think Skolfield has done an amazing job interpreting the days prophesies in Daniel that primarily lead up to the building of the Al Aqsa Mosque in 688, the re-birth of Israel as a nation in 1948, and Jewish control of Jerusalem in 1967. You'll notice that all these dates are historical. Skolfield doesn't try and predict the timing of prophetic events in the future (i.e. Christ's return); I respect him for that because if he did try and predict Christ's return, I'd consider him a false prophet. Nobody but the Father knows when Christ will return.

Now about 2012, personally I wouldn't put too much stake on saying that the end of the world is in 2012. Looking at Matthew 24:36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven nor the Son, but only the Father. So I figure if Christ doesn't know when he's coming back to finish off this age - I won't know with certainty until I hear the last trumpet blow. Nostradamus said something about a comet hitting the earth in 2012, but I don't consider him spiritually inspired at all, so I wouldn't waste time believing that, personally.

Keep digging into God's word and working on your faith. There's nothing more valuable than your relationship with the Saviour. Soon everything else will be destroyed by fire (2 Peter 3:10-12)

Hi-endtime lots of chatter on Joels blog about the Dome of the Rock not being on the site of the Temple. Of course Skofield pointed that out in detail in the False Prophet! Skofield also named Hitler, who perfectly fits the Dan 7&8 passage.Looking forward and trying to predict the future, and trying to fit it to a timeline is fruitless, but looking back and seeing prophecy fulfilled fills me with awe- but we can see how things are trending toward the last trumpet.

re:2012- the Maya calender ends on Dec 21,2012. also the first polar reversal in recorded history is supposed to occur that year. In the past God has used His creation to bring about His appointed times and to fulfill His word, so He may use these 'natural occurences' to bring about His plan and purpose for the world.

endtime, your 'ranting' as you call it, shows your passion for truth and your frustration as well. I appreciate your efforts to bring truth to the discussion! Thankyou for your efforts!

Thanks for your encouragement, Jamie. I guess this IS my blog so I'm going to give myself permission to rant all I want :) about God and his plan to wrap this age up with the soon coming of His Son - praise God he has revealed the Book of Daniel to us, Jamie! I told my wife, I think Daniel 12:10 applies to us, who now understand Daniel's days prophesies, thanks to Skolfield.

new_beginning I read your first post and found it very interesting. Your perspective is quite unique, and one that I think many others will also enjoy reading about. Setting up your blog was a great idea!

I found many things in your first post that I agree with. I find that America is doing the lion's share of the world's "dirty work", which I, as a Canadian, greatly appreciate. I've often thought that Isaiah 13:4-6,20 applies to America in Iraq today.

4 Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together! The LORD Almighty is mustering an army for war.

5 They come from faraway lands,
from the ends of the heavens—the LORD and the weapons of his wrath—to destroy the whole country.

6 Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

20 She (Babylon) will never be inhabited or lived in through all generations; no Arab will pitch his tent there, no shepherd will rest his flocks there.
(vs 20 says to me that this is talking about the future, not just about when the Medes conquered Babylon)

This passage, if it is talking about America in Iraq, basically says that God will use an army from far away lands to destroy (not build up via democracy) all of Babylon/Iraq. I think these verses could very well be talking about America because of what 13:3 says:

I have commanded my holy ones;
I have summoned my warriors to carry out my wrath—those who rejoice in my triumph.

America is one of a handful of countries left, that is strongly supportive of Israel. If the U.S. (aka "the Great Satan" by our Islamic friends) were out of the way, God only knows what forces of evil would march out against Israel the next day. And I guess that's the point of Isaiah 13:6 immediately transitioning into the Day of the Lord, which is talked about at length in Joel 3 and many other places in the Old Testament. Now, to say the U.S is composed of God's "holy ones" is definitely debatable, but I have no doubt that God is blessing (and to some extent pleased with) the U.S. because of President Bush's strong support of Israel, the apple of God's eye. Fortunately my country has recently kicked out the Liberal Party (which was somewhat anti-Semitic) , and placed in Prime Minister Harper, who is very pro-Israel. (BTW: Our economy is booming).

Your comment about: "if America withdraws from the world stage, who will fill the void?" is related to my point above. I hope God does not allow Islam to succeed in attacking America, however I think if verse 6 of Isaiah 13 is going to come true (i.e. countries attacking Israel on the Day of the Lord), I think America has to be made impotent. There's two ways I know that can happen: 1. Islam conquers America to the point that America no longer defends Israel, or

2. Hillary comes to power in early '09.

Keep up the great writing new_beginning. I believe that from where you sit, you could do a lot of good through your writing, and perhaps influencing U.S. foreign policy. Keep your eye on Biblical prophesy, because I guarantee you, as crazy as it may sound to our "educated society", the Bible will not let you down.

PS: I was honored to have my blog show up as a link on your blog-thanks! :)

Hi endtime- I watched Grant Jeffreys 'Prophecy Revealed' on TV last night and it was PAINFUL! How much he added to the Scriptures in his interpetation was beyond belief. A Jewish antichrist, a statue, a revived European Roman Empire..........which brings me to Nates response to you on Joels blog-the 'people' who destroyed the Temple in 70AD were the 10th Roman Legion, comprized of:
"A- Thracum Syriaca
B-IV Cohort Thracia-Bulgaria and Turkey
C-Syria Ulpia Petraeorum-Petra{Edom}Nabataen Arabs
D-IV Cohort Arabia-Arabia
E- Syria
Therefore, these were a mixture of peoples, Syrian, Arabs, and Turks, and that describes today's nations as mentioned in Prophecy."[Quote from 'Why I Left Jihad']
Titus led the Eastern Legion of the Roman Empire, not the Western.

IMO- the ruler could very well be a spiritual leader ie Mohamud/Allah
and the 'covenant' with the 'many'
could be a'covenant' with those who follow Mohamud/Allah. I don't see anywhere that this is a peace treaty with Israel- just some random thoughts........

Hi New beginning- I read your essay and I couldn't agree more. Thankyou for articulating your position so well. I hope your essay is widely read, it will add alot to the discussion-dare we hope another viewpoint will be considered? I hope to read more from you.......
I tried to respond on your blog but couldn't get it posted.

Good morning Jamie,

Interesting quote, looks like I'm going to have to buy "Why I Left Jihad". All these nations coming to destroy the 2nd temple-do you think this has anything to do with the "feet" of the statue in Daniel 2:34 being composed of a mix of iron and clay? Seems to me that the "clay" might represent various islamic countries that were included in the Byzantine empire back during Titus, and still exist today...until Christ (the stone) smashes these Islamic kingdoms with his return.(I'm just thinking out loud-do you have any further thoughts on this?)

Thanks Endtimes and Lightshine for reading my first post. I'm starting to work on a second essay, unfortunately my "day job" is getting in the way. I leave my current posting in the Carribean for my next assignment, Mozambique Africa, in 7 weeks.

Sorry about the delay in posting, Jamie. My blog is somehow set that I need to approve each comment. I'll try to figure out how to change the setting so that the comments go in right away.

Hi endtime- about the 'clay'......I remember reading[but can't find the referance] that the ten toes represent people groups from all the previous empires-which are all now Islamic-and the iron and clay are the Shite and Sunni [sp?] divisions within Islam. I'll keep looking for where I read that-too many books, too little time!
