1 Kings 9: ¹ When Solomon had finished building the temple of the LORD and the royal palace, and had achieved all he had desired to do, ² the LORD appeared to him a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon. ³ The LORD said to him: "I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

Yet what is on the Temple Mount? The al Aqsa mosque, the abomination of desolation...

Engraved on the al Aqsa mosque are the blasphemous words:

O People of the Book [meaning Christians]! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning God save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a Messenger of God [denial of Jesus as God's Son]

So believe in God and His messengers, and say not 'Three' - Cease! [denial of the Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Ghost]

God is only One God. Far be it removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son. [denial of Jesus as the Son of God]

Christians should at least be concerned that a Muslim mosque on the Temple Mount declares such blasphemies against the Son of God! Shouldn't this fact at least pique our interest considering God's "eyes and heart" are forever on the Temple Mount?

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob warned us about this abomination:

Daniel 9:27 (ASV) "And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations [shall come] one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out upon the desolate."

Daniel 11:31 (ASV) "And forces shall stand on his part, and they shall profane the sanctuary, even the fortress, and shall take away the continual [burnt-offering], and they shall set up the abomination that maketh desolate."

Daniel 12:11 (ASV) "And from the time that the continual [burnt-offering] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand and two hundred and ninety days."

Understand the 1 day = 1 year principle and these prophesies all fall into place, and the identity of the abomination of desolation is clear.

We are that close to the end of this age.
