Key words from President Bush regarding Israel:

Bush tells Israel: End the occupation
Later in the day, in a dramatic, unscheduled statement read to US-based reporters at the King David Hotel, Bush said the contours of the two-state solution were clear.

"There should be an end to the occupation that began in 1967," Bush said. He added, in language indicating a rejection of the idea of Palestinian refugees flowing into Israel, "The agreement must establish Palestine as a homeland for the Palestinian people, just as Israel is a homeland for the Jewish people."

The president went on: "These negotiations must ensure that Israel has secure, recognized, and defensible borders. And they must ensure that the state of Palestine is viable, contiguous, sovereign and independent."

Bush said that reaching an agreement would require "painful concessions" by both Israel and the Palestinians.

What painful concessions are required of the so-called "Palestinians"? They will have to forgo launching Kassams and homocide bombers against Israel? Hardly a 'painful concession'. Israel has every right to wipe out her enemies in Gaza and the West Bank (etc.) in retaliation for these kinds of attacks. Just like the US navy will retaliate against Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards if the IRG pulls another stunt in the Strait of Hormuz.

What exactly does President Bush mean by ensuring a contiguous Palestine state? Is he proposing a bridge between Gaza and Judea and Samaria (aka "the West Bank")?

"While territory is an issue for both parties to decide, I believe that any peace agreement between them will require mutually agreed adjustments to the armistice lines of 1949 to reflect current realities and to ensure that the Palestinian state is viable and contiguous," Bush said.

Reducing Israel's territory back to indefensible 1949 borders is not advisable. God is not pleased with such a statement coming from even a naive Christian president. Any nation that requires Israel to give up more of it's God-given land will be punished.

Interestingly, and not at all coincidentally, Bush's visit to Israel is during the 3,500 year anniversary of Zechariah's vision in Zechariah chapter 1. What does the angel of God say at the end of chapter 1, regarding nations that "humble" Judah (by forcing land concessions) ?

Zechariah 1 (emphasis mine):
18
Then I looked up and saw four animal horns. 19 “What are these?” I asked the angel who was talking with me.

He replied, “These horns represent the nations that scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

20 Then the Lord showed me four blacksmiths. 21 “What are these men coming to do?” I asked.

The angel replied, “These four horns—these nations—scattered and humbled Judah. Now these blacksmiths have come to terrify those nations and throw them down and destroy them.”

God have mercy on President Bush and on the United States of America

We've been discussing this elsewhere as well-not joel's however but at the alternate location wilma told you about. don't know if you have been following stuff at Joel's recently or not but it has been interesting as an understatement.

drop by to talk about it anytime

btw if I have or had offended you in the past or hurt you in anyway I'm sorry for that. Things got a little heated at Joel's at times and I also have strong opinions. My brother (younger than me) has accused me more than once of being tactless. Another factor was involved as well but that is not a factor at this point. I still don't agree with pretty much anything you believe about end times events and likely you won't ever convert me but I think we can agree to disagree-no?

Hi Lighshine,

You know, I honestly don't understand that we could be in the 40th year post-June, 1967 on the Levitical calendar?? How is that possible if we're already past the 40th year on the Gregorian (i.e. our) calendar. The Jewish calendar has fewer days than ours (360 right?), so I would have thought that the Jews would have hit their 40th year anniversary sooner, not later. Please help me if I'm missing the obvious :) I've been down with the flu of the gastrointestinal (nasty) kind. I haven't been sleeping well, so I catch just about every bug the kids bring home from school these days. Thankfully I have a great wife and employer/boss who are very understanding and supportive.

I don't know why I'm getting up so early (2:30am last two nights)...is God trying to tell me something? I had another "clock set forward by one hour" episode a couple nights ago. That's the second incident in the last month. I've been praying that God would give me a sign on my clock (sounds silly but that's what I did), and I'm assuming this is it. I think God is telling me that time is later than the world thinks, I totally see it that way.

With that in mind, I think ( and quite honestly 'hope') that 2008 is a big year for God moving among us. Very unfortunately, I think your country is going to have a catastrophe (economic, climate, terrorist ??) because of what President Bush is trying to accomplish. As you know, God is not amused. May the perfect Lord give our leaders eyes to see, and wisdom to know better.

JIB:

Thank you! I humbly ask that you forgive me too if I have offended you in any way. I certainly haven't harbored any bad feelings towards anyone at Joel's - this life is far too short for that, and it doesn't please our Redeemer.

I do visit the new comments site you have set up from time to time, so thank you for the invitation. I'm not sure if I'll comment over there though, as I find it only causes division over something none of us have perfect knowledge about...YET. Praise God we can fellowship with one another here on the internet. Indeed the internet CAN be used for good.

God bless you both. Have a great weekend.

Come Lord Jesus.

Hi Endtime-I feel so much compassion for you!Besides the pure misery of being sick, it often makes it difficult for us to do what God is calling us to do. I believe that God is using you in a powerful way on this site. The more success you have the more the devil will try to bring you down-and illness is one of his tools.
I agree that your clock set is a sign from God. The fact that it happened twice is a witness-remember Gideon and the fleece? I know of many people who are waking up at around 3am. I'm one of them, and I will include you in my prayers at that time. According to Perry Stone this is the Biblical 4th watch when Jesus often is recorded praying.
I can't quite understand the 40 year extension into 2008 either, but I also feel 2008 is going to be a benchmark year.I'm dreading whats in store for the USA.
Interesting for me is that what Bush is trying to get agreement on in the ME looks alot like a confirmation of the agreement that was in place in '49, after the Israelis won the war.

I'm praying for you
Jamie
