Zechariah 12:
2 "I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves...

6 "On that day I will make the leaders of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume right and left all the surrounding peoples, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.

Hi End Times,
Every once in a while I come across a new web site with great essays. Today is one such day. Have you visited www.thetrumpet.com ?

http://www.thetrumpet.com/index.php?q=4371.0.99.0

The enclosed article is titled "Close to Armagedon". I loved their conclusion: It is God who gathers those armies to Armageddon! (Revelation 16:15-16). The Bible command is: “Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame” (verse 15). It is our shameful spiritual nakedness that fills God with wrath! If we remove that shame, we don’t have to fear nuclear war!

If people are going to continually invoke the word Armageddon, they ought to understand the conclusion of that bloody scene! Armageddon is concluded by the coming of the Messiah! Even if we don’t remove our shame, He is still coming. That is what Armageddon is all about. Those armies in Armageddon are going to be brought to Jerusalem to fight the Messiah.

This is a biblical prophecy that should cause us to stop and ponder. Before it’s over, the Valley of Jehoshaphat—which runs between the Old City of Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives—will flow with blood up to the horses’ bridles! That valley is where most of the soldiers of Armageddon will die.

This is how people must learn lessons if they won’t heed the Bible’s message today. But human nature is rebellious and extremely self-willed. People usually have to learn the hard way.

Thankfully, all of this devastation will end with the greatest news this world and even the universe has ever experienced! And it all follows on the heels of Armageddon.

nb,

No, I haven't seen thetrumpet.com, but it looks very interesting. I'll be sure to check that out, thanks for that!

Armageddon is concluded by the coming of the Messiah!

Yup, I'm totally with you on that thought. From my reading of the Bible, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 says Christians will be transformed at the "last trumpet". The last trumpet is in Revelation 11:15-19:

Verse 15 says:

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven:

"The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever" [emphasis mine].

That seventh and last trumpet doesn't blow until after the sixth trumpet (obviously), and that 6th trumpet, in my opinion, describes the battle of Armageddon. Notice that this battle emanates from the Euphrates river in Rev. 9:14 (i.e. Iraq). Look at Rev. 16:12 and notice that the battle of Armageddon starts from the Euphrates river. I believe that the 6th trumpet and the 6th bowl are talking about the same thing from different perspectives - they overlap or pancake one another.

My humble conclusion is that the war in Iraq around the Euphrates River is the beginning of the march to Armageddon, and Christ's 2nd, physical coming follows this utter destruction of one third of the earth.

This is an aside, but I was reading Micah 5 last night, and that chapter sure sounds to me like Christ's coming will also be preceded by Syria's invasion of Israel - on the Golan perhaps? Annapolis will fail (no doubt about that), but will that be enough for Syria to take matters into their own hands by invading the Golan? Assad has been doing a lot of crying over that piece of land lately.

My eyes are staying wide, WIDE open.

I agree that the latest "Diplomatic Entanglement" will will lead to another intefada up rising just like after the Clinton-Barak-Arafat Peace Process failure. Neither the Palestinians nor the Arabs want peace with Israel, they want Israel gone!

Notice Zechariah 14:1-2: “Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.” This is clearly an end-time prophecy, as verses 3 and 4 make undeniably clear: “Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.” East Jerusalem’s captivity occurs just before the Messiah’s appearance on the Mount of Olives!

That’s how close we are to the end of this age.

Hat tip to "the Trumpet".
