The key players, but no peace deal |

US Secretary of State John Kerry spent five hours talking to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem Thursday night. They will meet again before he leaves. Friday, Kerry held talks with Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. He goes on to meet Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas Friday night. On this visit Kerry planned to submit to both parties a proposed framework for an accord covering the core issues in the dispute for their comments. Ahead of his arrival, sources in the Israeli prime minister’s office said the pressure the US was applying to Israel for concessions was unfair, especially the threat of a European boycott, and it was disproportionately greater that US demands of the Palestinians.
