Turkish president vows action after Syria shoots down fighter jet
Turkey’s president said Saturday his country will take “necessary,” but unspecified, action against Syria, a day after Damascus said it had brought down a Turkish military plane near the volatile border between the two countries.

Since the sophisticated weapons were delivered to the Assad regime in
recent weeks, it must be assumed that local missile crews had not
finished training in their use and would have had to rely on help from
their Russian instructors to fire one.
